Sonic X (Uncut Dub) - Episode 19 - The Ghost of the Old Castle, King Boom Boo
The first of possibility no more Sonic X episodes. The only reason I did this episode in particular was because this was one of two episodes I had on the card since earlier this year. The other was The Ghost of Maiden Peak's episode. Alys, being unimpressive with TMS' International Version opening decided to remake it to reflect the Japanese version and even translated the opening and ending credits. We intended to do more but it wasn't possible since neither of us could speak Japanese and while I can read French somewhat good, there wasn't a French version of the second ending online so I couldn't translate what it said so I had to rely on the Uncut English Edition's version which had it's own problems so we went with a middle-ground approach of translating the song, but not the credits. He also added some frames so the English dub could match the lip flaps.
I had to redo some audio since they got desync sometime after he added all the extra stuff to it.
You fool! Nothing can stop the Dragon Champion!
(Also found out the audio issue was not from Duel Links or my computer but from Microsoft's build in Video Recorder)
This episode has a lot of random sound bite coming from the Japanese audio I rip in Vocal Remover. There wasn't much in the way of edit outside of removing one random line.

This has got to be the worse episode of GX I ever worked with. Largely to do with how much scene the dub cut and how many characters that have dialogue going on forever and since there's no AI voices for any GX character who isn't Jaden or Alexis there were a lot of dialogue I was unable to replace. I try to have Dark Magician Girl's turn starts off with the classic "It's my turn! Draw!" but the voices of DMG leaves a lot to be desire, one instances I had to leave in Japanese since there was a crowd shot that was also cut from the dub.

Wanted to give this scene a second shot. This time I used the Japanese dub instead of the French Dub which eliminated most of the desyncing issues I had with the French Dub. Most of the stuff is the same as the French dub so I won't be going over that. Me and Alys went ahead and translated the Eyecatches into English. For those who don't know, the International version of Sonic X removes all Japanese text from the Opening, Ending, Title Cards, and Eyecatches, which made this process a little easy since I didn't have to worry about getting rid of the text. The problem was this progress was never done before so we had to translate the Japanese text to understand what it was saying. This was the thing that took up the most time since we had to find a way to format it so that it's accurate to how it's display in the Japanese version while also incorporating it into the English Language and I say Alys did a pretty good job at it. I also trim it down because there was a long black screen behind cards and I felt it was unnecessary to have it.
The biggest oof out of this was Chris, Amy, and Tails' conversation because the English dub has a lot less lines than the Japanese version and we had to trim down Amy's dialogue because it did not match the lip flip so it went from "Step aside! I'll fix that robot!" to "Step Aside!".

Oh wow, my first YouTube video in months that haven't been blocked worldwide and is not a Yu-Gi-Oh! video. I expect engagement to be very low. /s
On a serious note, I been fooling around with Google Translate's image translator and I been using it for DM episode 46 and 47 and this is the first time I did an opening using it. After hearing Mark De Groot's rendition of We Gotta Power, I had to do this. I had to slice the music a bit so that it lined up with the original and I say it came out good there. The credits were checked using the information from Anime News Network to avoid errors or mistranslations. Unlike with my other stuff, I wanted it to be as if Funimation had done it. So the words and fonts don't have any borders on them.
I also tried to find the best version that have proper color correction and wasn't zoomed in and or blown out like the Orange Bricks release. I'm thinking of doing one for the Original Dragon Ball as well, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

I face the same problem here as I did Episode 1 involving the sign to Cerulean City so I gave up after awhile. I also couldn't really save any Japanese music or many silent moment since the Clefairy were saying their English and Japanese name in both dubs.

This clip won on the last poll I did. And I can understand why since the original was a rush job since I was going to go on a trip with my father and niece so I had to rush this out the gate. With my second try, and having a better video file, I could do a better job at it. X-Minus, kept a few sound in the background of the voices sorry.
I had to change the dialogue in a lot of places to match the original Japanese script even though there were a few dub lines I wanted to keep, but couldn't because it either didn't match the original script, or I couldn't make it worse. I also kept some dub lines in that I wanted to keep in the original but I accidently removed and didn't feel like wanting to put back. I also made it longer to include scenes I wanted in the original, but forget to include. Of course, the first scene where Kaiba ordered Blue-Eyes to attack Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon to attack was cut so I had to use Duel Links line for that and I use that "Burst Stream of Destruction" line I had used in Episode 132 and 133.
