Here's a recent snow study. It was based on a random picture I found on Google, which I used as reference for light and color, in a slightly different composition.
Mentally supporting the team at Gamescom from the home front. If you're heading there go check out the Woolfe boot, it looks great! Anyway, here's another creature I designed for the game.
This might have been the hardest one to create out of all the Jagsters pieces. First it took me a while to build the scene in 3D, with some simple models out of DAZ that were later replaced by crude Zbrush models. The mood, setting and architecture took some studying as well, and lastly getting all the elements in the composition to read by putting just enough detail in the right places took some puzzling as well. A blast to work on, but definitely more intense than last week's painting!
Here's a study of some oldschool Belgian fishermen. Finally getting the hang of this thing called Mixer Brush, a second attempt, and it's still sort of a mystery. Who are you Adobe, is this real paint?
