Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls - Marsh Cave - Piscodemons
In the Marsh Cave, these Wizards tend to guard 3 designated stations in basement 3 of the dungeon. Some of those spots, especially the lowest left-hand door and a couple of treasure chests in the area, will trigger these Piscodemons. These Piscodemons tend to cast spells, which do a fairly large amount of damage. After your mission with Cheryl at the Eterna Forest, you can battle her at the Battleground’s café. Wobbuffet will use Counter and Mirror Coat to draw back attacks for double the damage along with Safeguard to prevent status problems for 5 turns. Drifblim will use Toxic to poison opponents and Protect or Fly to avoid being hit for one turn. Hariyama will use Stone Edge for critical hits and Bullet Punch for first strikes. Wailord will use Water Spout when full on HP and Brine for the finishing move. Blissey will use Counter to cause twice as much damage when a physical attack hits it then Softboiled to recover. Make sure you have a good variety of types for this battle.

At the start, jump into the water and enter the pipe. Navigate the water and bounce off a Paratroopa to find the first Yoshi Coin after turning left. Navigate the area below and make your way around a few more Paratroopas. Enter the green pipe and ride a skeleton platform over lava. The 2nd Yoshi Coin is in an alcove after riding over the lava. Make your way around the maze and jump from platform to platform to cross over another pit of lava. Go up the yellow pipe and you’ll next see a duo of blue Paratroopas. Go down the next pipe and board the yellow landings that will sink into the lava. The 3rd Yoshi Coin is seen as you cross, but watch for Swoopers in the area. After you have crossed, you’ll reach the goal.

During your post-game quest, you’ll find Cynthia located in a house at Undella Town. You can battle her once per day every Spring and Summer. Spiritomb will use Double Team to evade attacks and Will-O-Wisp to burn targets. Eelektross can’t be hit by Ground type moves with its Levitate ability. Milotic will use Bulldoze to slow opponents down and Dragon Tail to force switching out. Braviary will use Crush Claw to lower the Defense stat of targets and Brave Bird for big damage at the expense of its own HP. Lucario will use Aura Sphere for never miss strikes and Extremespeed for first strikes. Garchomp will use Stone Edge for critical hits and Dragon Rush to make targets flinch. Make sure you have a good variety of moves for this battle.

Go deep into the desert of Route 4 and happening only on Thursdays, you’ll see a Mandibuzz there. Save your game before you interact with it. Mandibuzz is on Level 25. It also has its Dream Word ability called Weak Armor. This ability lowers the user’s Defense stat and raises its Speed stat when hit by physical attacks. If you still have plenty of balls to capture, make sure you do.

After a 48-win streak, you’ll battle Palmer again. Regigigas has only half its Attack and Speed for 5 turns due to its Slow Start ability. If Heatran is in danger, it will use Explosion. Cresselia will use Calm Mind to become harder to take out and then Moonlight when in danger. After this battle, you’ll receive 20 BP.

After defeating Team Rocket at the Goldenrod City Radio Tower, go to Blackthorn City and enter the gym. This gym has platforms over lava that will move when standing on the arrow tiles. Guide the platforms across the lava and go to the next landing. Once you made it across, you’ll take on the gym leader. Clair uses Dragon type Pokémon. Gyarados will use Twister for a 20% chance of making the target flinch and can even strike those who prepare Fly or Bounce. Dragonair will use Thunder Wave to paralyze the target and Fire Blast for a 10% chance of burning the target. Kingdra will use Smokescreen to lower the target’s Accuracy stat and Hyper Beam to deal massive damage but at the requirement to recharge the next turn. After the battle, Clair won’t give you anything right away, but she will ask you to go to the Dragon’s Den and enter a shrine guarded by elders. After taking a test by an elder, Clair will come by to give you the Rising Badge. As you’re about to leave the den, Clair will also give you a TM59 (Dragon Pulse).

Enter the Relic Passage where a cave is below the building to the Pokémon World Tournament and use Strength to clear the maze. One opening leads to the Relic Castle where you’ll eventually find Volcarona. Save your game before you interact. Volcarona is on Level 35. If you defeat it, you’ll have the 2nd chance later after you beat the Elite Four. It will be on Level 65 for your 2nd chance later on. Net Balls would be recommended since Volcarona is Bug/Fire type.

After solving the mysteries in the Sealed Chamber, go to the desert of Route 111 and you’ll enter the Desert Ruins. In front of the visual braille message, take 2 steps right, 2 steps down, then use Strength to open the way to the next room. Save your game before you interact. Regirock is on Level 40. It has a move called Superpower, which inflicts great damage but also lowers the user’s own Attack and Defense stats. Keep using Ultra Balls if you have any left.

When you use the Pokénav Match Call feature, you’ll see Wattson wanting a rematch after you venture freely for a while. Return to the gym at Mauville City and battle Wattson again. For the first rematch, Voltorb has evolved with the addition of Mareep. In the 2nd rematch, Mareep has evolved with the addition of Pikachu. In the 3rd rematch, Pikachu and Flaaffy have evolved. In the 4th and final rematch, Electabuzz is added.
