Now, they will begin the Velinard substory. They already carried out Quest 105, a prerequisite, during video #120. Velinard (time 0:28): The party resumes in Velinard Castle Town's church. In the north, they enter Velinard Castle at D-1/E-1. Velinard Castle (time 3:44): The party goes up to floor 3F. In the throne room, they talk to Prince Odis at D-4. Odis issues Quest 121: "The Singing Prince", the first Velinard substory quest. The prerequisites are to have earned the Silver Key Emblem from completing Velinard's main story and to have completed Quest 105: "It's a Royal Book!". The first objective is to go to the North Velinard Region and defeat Sootheslimes to acquire Nagomi Oil. The party goes out the southern door at D-5/E-5 to the Shell Bridge. They Zoom to the Eternal Underground Labyrinth destination in the North Velinard Region. North Velinard Region (time 6:16): The party arrives at B-2 outside the entrance to the Eternal Underground Labyrinth in the northwest. They find Sootheslimes (ベホイムスライム) nearby. After a few battles, the party acquires the Nagomi Oil (ナゴミオイル) key item. The next objective is to deliver it to Prince Odis in Velinard Castle. Before they depart, the party explores the area. However, all the pre-stocked containers are in the west of the zone, and the party has already gathered the treasures from them. At G-4, the party finds a random blue chest with a Silk Bloom (シルク華). When they have finished exploring, the party Zooms to Velinard Castle Town. Velinard (time 15:28): The party rests at the inn. In the north, they enter Velinard Castle at D-1/E-1. Velinard Castle (time 16:42): The party goes up to floor 3F. In the throne room, they talk to Prince Odis at D-4 and deliver the Nagomi Oil. A scene with the royal family takes place. The next destination is the Shell Bridge south of the throne room. The party goes out the southern door at D-5/E-5 to the Shell Bridge. A cutscene takes place when the party reaches the Shell Balcony at D-7/E-7. Quest 121 complete! The party earns an Urubea Gold Coin (ウルベア金貨). However, things do not seem to go as Prince Odis hoped. The party goes north and takes the door at D-3/E-3 into floor 3F. In the throne room, they talk to Prince Odis at D-4. Odis issues Quest 122: "The Prince's Challenge", the second Velinard substory quest. The party must visit the Guardian of Poetry in the Poetry Room in the Ruins of Poetry in Booner Rainforest. The party goes out the southern door at D-5/E-5 to the Shell Bridge. From there, they Zoom to the Jungle Camp in Booner Rainforest. Booner Rainforest (time 27:00): The party arrives at the Jungle Camp at F-7. They enter the Ruins of Poetry at E-8 in the south. Ruins of Poetry (time 27:26): The party starts at B-2 in the northwest. They follow the eastward path and enter the Poetry Room at H-5. In the Poetry Room, they examine the Guardian of Poetry at G-4/G-5 in the east. This triggers a scene with Odis. The party's next destination is the Shrine of Poetry, the deepest room in the Juleria Underground Abandoned Mine in Upper Jule Island. After the scene, the party Evacs out of the dungeon. Booner Rainforest (time 31:49): The party Zooms to the Juleria Underground Abandoned Mine in Upper Jule Island. Upper Jule Island (time 32:02): The party enters the Juleria Underground Abandoned Mine at A-2/B-2 in the northwest. He earned the Fencing Degen and the Warlock's Boots. In the process, he also accepted a couple of Curilla's quests, "The General's Secret" and "Old Wounds". The Sapara of Trials from "Old Wounds" is a pretty nice weapon, at least for now. It may be a while before Heorot finishes that one. "The General's Secret" will be quick and easy, so Heorot will carry that out before continuing the artifact quests. Heorot resumes in his Mog House in Bastok. He heads out to Bastok Mines. Bastok Mines (time 1:13): Heorot teleports to Home Point #1 in Yughott Grotto, Ronfaure. Yughott Grotto (time 1:33): Heorot arrives at J-6 on the top level of Yughott Grotto. He takes the southeast exit at J-9 to the top of Horlais Peak. Horlais Peak (time 2:55): On Horlais Peak, Heorot examines the Hot Springs. This fills Curilla's Bottle with the spring water. The description of Curilla's Bottle will change to reflect this. Now, Heorot must take it back to her. Heorot returns to Yughott Grotto. Yughott Grotto (time 4:17): Heorot uses Home Point #1 at J-6 to teleport to Northern San d'Oria. Northern San d'Oria (time 5:27): Heorot enters Chateau d'Oraguille at J-6/J-7. Chateau d'Oraguille (time 6:09): Heorot reports to Curilla at I-9. When he returns Curilla's Bottle, she explains how she uses it. That explains why she has a lock of hair covering her left eye. She rewards Heorot with Lynx Baghnaks. "The General's Secret" complete! Heorot talks to Curilla again. She wants to figure out how to hear the message of the ghost in the cathedral. However, she does not have any leads to go on. This begins the third Red Mage artifact quest, "Peace for the Spirit". This requires Level 50 or greater as Red Mage. Heorot talks to Faurie at I-9 to leave the chateau. Northern San d'Oria (time 9:18): Heorot teleports to Southern San d'Oria. Southern San d'Oria (time 9:45): In the Lion Springs tavern at K-6, Heorot talks to Sharzalion for a cutscene. The bartender, Valderotaux, reveals a way to talk to the dead. There is an old fountain run dry in Fei'Yin. Heorot must throw an Antique Coin into it. That leaves finding an Antique coin, but that won't be much problem. Heorot teleports to Home Point #1 in Fei'Yin, Fauregandi. Fei'Yin (time 13:11): Heorot arrives at K-8 in the east of the top floor of Fei'Yin. The fountain run dry is at H-8 towards the middle of the area. At the same coordinates, Heorot finds Miser Murphy, a notorious monster ghost. With the help of Crows's powers, Heorot entered Mishua's memory and helped her remember her past. She is the true Hero Princess Anlucia. But what of the lookalike that abducted her? The evil Anlucia tried but failed to steal the true Anlucia's heroic powers. The true Anlucia has joined the party. Now, the party must go to Alltrades Abbey and pursue the evil Anlucia through the portal to the Whirlpool of Creation. Gran Zedora (time 0:29): The party resumes in the church in the Kingdom of Gran Zedora. While Anlucia comes with several nodes purchased on her skill panel, there are several yet available, and she comes with 139 skill points unallocated. Under Courage, she spends 3 points on Max MP +5, 15 points on the ability Gigaslash (ギガスラッシュ), 7 points on +3% Chance not to Consume MP, and 25 points on the Coup de Grâce ability Gigagash (ギガブレイク). Under Truth, she spends 12 points on Heal Effect +10% and 20 points on the Coup de Grâce spell Kazap (ギガデイン). Under Justice, she spends 12 points on the ability Gyrfalcon Slash (超はやぶさ斬り), 10 points on Critical Hit Rate +10%, 7 points on Weapon Guard Rate +3%, 20 points on the Coup de Grâce ability Phoenix Dance (不死鳥天舞), and 5 points on Attack Power +10 with a sword equipped. Phoenix Dance deals four physical blows to an enemy and restores HP to the user; quite useful. Anlucia also equips a Wood-Carved Rosary +3 (木彫りのロザリオ＋３). The player earns the accolade "Follower of the Hero Princess" for picking up 40 nodes on Anlucia's skill panel. The party leaves the church. Near the entrance to town, Ike at D-7/E-7 has story info. The party Zooms to the Town of Seredo to check for story info. Seredo (time 7:33): The party Zooms to Alltrades Abbey. Alltrades Abbey (time 7:54): From the exterior, the party takes the doors at D-2/E-2 into floor 1F of the abbey. The lock on the door at D-5/E-5 has been opened, so the party goes through to the Courtyard. They take the next door at D-3/E-3 to the abbey's northern wing. In the northwestern room, a bedroom, a wardrobe at C-2 contains a Priest's Robe (司祭のほうい). A wardrobe at C-3 contains a Priest's Hat (司祭のほうい). The party goes up the stairs at B-4 to floor 2F. In the western room, a dining hall, a pot at B-3 contains 3 Budding Spuds (まんまるポテト). A barrel at B-2 contains a phial of Finessence (ぶどうエキス). In the northern room, an office, a black chest at D-2 contains a Blue Orb (ブルーオーブ). A bookcase at D-1 contains the book "Creation and Destruction". At the eastern end of the hall, a red chest at F-3 contains 2 Sage's Elixirs (けんじゃのせいすい). In the eastern room, a bookcase at F-3 contains "Alltrades Priest Training Knowledge". However, it is blank. In fact, several books in Rendashia are blank. One has to wonder why. The party goes back down to floor 1F. They take the eastern stairway at F-3 down to floor B1. At E-5 on B1, a barrel contains 3 Strong Antidotes (上どくけしそう). In the Ceremonial Chamber (儀式の間), the party examines the purple teleportal at D-3/D-4. This triggers a scene with Hero Princess Anlucia. The party automatically goes through. Eterne Village (time 15:30): A scene takes place as the party arrives in Eterne Village. Wow, this place is in bad shape. The party must make their way north. After the scene, the party gains control at C-7. The nearby teleportal on Lord Kame's platform leads back to Alltrades Abbey. Look out for the toxic pools. There seem to be no treasures or humans in the village. However, there are three docile monsters with information. The party exits north at F-2 to the Nurturing Land. Nurturing Land (time 20:52): The party starts at C-7/D-7 in the south. This area is laid out as it was in the game's prologue, and it is home to the same starting monsters. However, there is a different treasure available. Anlucia reaches Level 61. She earns 13 skill points for a total of 16. Under Patience, she spends 10 points on Dark Resistance +10%. In the Cornerstone Woods (いしずえの森), a red chest at G-3 contains a pair of Slime Earrings (スライムピアス). When the party's Double Bubble and Metal Perfume expire, they use new ones. The party takes out a couple of Metal Slimes (time 27:17). The party exits north at E-1 to the Nameless Meadow. Then, they visited Istory in the northwest of the world. In the forest near town, they earned the Ramuh summon. Now, they will move on with the story and go southeast to Crescent Island. I show the current state of the Bestiary before loading the game. World Map (time 0:47): The party resumes outside the Library of the Ancients. For whatever reason, Lenna and Galuf do not have full MP, so the party enters the library. Library of the Ancients (time 1:13): The party uses the healing pot on 2F to heal up. Then, they leave. World Map (time 1:32): The party boards the Fire-Powered Ship and sails southeast. Before they visit Crescent Island, they go to the second island southwest of it. Faris changes her job to Blue Mage and equips !Control. Also, Galuf equips Learn. Everyone goes into the back row. On the second island southwest of Crescent Island, the party encounters a tough warmech called the Prototype. Its nastiest attack is Blaster, which inflicts instant death. It also has Mustard Bomb, which deals a lot of damage and inflicts a short-lasting sap effect. The party waits for the Prototype to use Flame Thrower on a party member capable of learning Blue Magic. Then, to defeat it easily, Faris uses Control on the Prototype and has it use Self-Destruct on itself. The party learns the Blue Magic spell Flame Thrower from the Prototype. By the way, it also has Missile and Self-Destruct available to learn through Control, should the party still need those spells. Galuf reequips "!Summon Lv. 4". Faris switches to Geomancer and equips "!Blue Magic". The party boards the ship and sails northeast to Crescent Island. Note that when they enter the town for the first time, they will lose access to the Fire-Powered Ship. First, the party explores Crescent Island itself. There is a new enemy type here, the Harvester. There are also Doublizards, Bio Soldiers, and Black Flames. The player earns the achievement "Smart Saver" for obtaining 100,000 gil over the course of the game. The party saves and then enters the town of Crescent. Crescent (time 13:12): All seems peaceful when the party enters town. However, as they step further in, an event takes place. They backtrack to the town entrance for another scene. Well, that's two ships they've lost now. The party explores the town of Crescent. There are some oddities about this area, for sure.
