At 1.2 watts per channel you can't expect much, but with any resonably efficient pair of speakers, the little Realistic SA-10 amplifier sounds awesome! It even actually puts out more bass than the 1986 Sanyo integrated stereo system I replaced it with. These video clips were recorded in June 2010 using a Sony CCD-TRV87 analog Hi8 XR Hi-Fi Stereo camcorder. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bts-vky3nEk
The result of a bad logic board that refuses to boot when any SIMMs (even known good ones) are installed. Using only the onboard RAM, it does boot and run, but the video has graphical corruption.

An FCC Part 15 certified FM transmitter with excellent audio quality and good signal range... but the AGC feature doesn't do anything, and throw out the counterfeit "Apple" USB AC adapter it comes with!

Can a CD player count as "vintage"? I think this one does, with high quality construction and several features you don't find on modern components. This Sony was definitely built to last.

Images and music taken from an old CD-ROM, dated 1993, containing many .GIF files of computer generated artwork and .MOD files of digitally sampled music. Likely most of this was created by Amiga computer users and distributed through various BBSes, some of which you see advertised in the images. The art has dates going back to 1985 and some of it is really quite spectacular, given the limitations of computer graphics at the time. The music is from an excellent .MOD rendition of "Toccata," dated April 1991 but with no author credit given.

With one weird trick, you can use a cheap USB video capture device to record audio from any line-level source, like a turntable (with pre-amp), cassette deck, etc.

A new old stock stereo double cassette deck with chrome and metal tape support, Dolby B Noise Reduction, auto-reverse, and a built-in 30-watt-per-channel amplifier, Made in Japan, which you may be able to find on eBay: the TOA BA-823, introduced in 1992 and designed as a background music system for commercial use. TOA also had the BA-806, with a mono amplifier designed for PA systems (but the cassette decks in it are still stereo), and the BA-800, a non-amplified deck with stereo line outputs.
Note: I know the image quality of this video is poor, even by my already low standards. I was using a different camcorder and editing process, neither of which functioned correctly. I tried to work around it with lots of B-roll shots, but given the limited number of these decks remaining, I didn't have time to reshoot the entire video.
