Today is going to be first in the series of Music Mod Tracker tutorials/guides, specifically the program Soundtracker Pro 2 by Marco Nelissen. Today i'm going to cover the basics of the interface itself, go through a summary of the menus and what the significant things do. I will also go through the basic structure of the Mod file and how it works and show examples.

More information about Soundtracker Pro 2:
Version 2.4 of Soundtracker pro II.
( Version 2.2 appeared on the CU-Amiga magazine may issue coverdisk, and was
described as 'one of the best trackers to have appeared for ages'. )
New in release 2.4:

- Fixed bug causing pro2 to always write a fastdir-file after saving
a song or sample. Updating of long fastdirs has also been fixed.
- included fileformat-description in distribution
For those of you unfamiliar with pro2, here's a short (and incomplete)
overview of it's features:
- Loads several different module formats
- Loads several different sample formats
- 127 samples. The samplelength is only limited by the available memory.
Samples may have sequences.
- pro2 can play samples located in fastmemory, and do real-time upsampling
of the sampledata -even on a 68000- to achieve a 5 octave total range.
- pitch-control
- link option
- sample-editfunctions include: equalize, DC adjust, mixing, chord generation
- 128 patterns, with a length of 1-9999 lines.
- pro2 can record keyreleases, notedelays and velocity. (An appropriate midi

More about Benefactor (quoted from Wikipedia)
"Benefactor is a mix between a puzzle game and a platform game. It has a similar concept to Psygnosis's earlier, very successful Lemmings series of games, but also adds its own ideas.
In Benefactor, the player plays a character called Ben E. Factor, who has resigned from the military to become an overall all-around good guy. Factor's mission is to save a group of "Merry Men", who have been kidnapped from their home planet and imprisoned over 60 levels.
The player controls Ben E. Factor directly, like a platform game character. Factor has to avoid all enemy creatures (hitting them would reduce health), and pull switches to extend the land, or many other things. Factor can find keys on the level to open the locks in the Merry Men's cells. When freed, a Merry Man automatically proceeds on a pre-set mission, with the aid of helping Factor to free the other Merry Men and complete the level. Once all Merry Men on a level have been freed, Factor has to go back to his starting point to complete the level. Although colliding with monsters reduces Factor's health, Merry Men are not harmed by monsters.
There are three difficulty levels: easy, normal and hard. On easy, enemies do less damage. On hard enemies do more damage and any damage taken is carried over to the next level. Score is gained by picking up bonus items and at the end of each level score is awarded based on how much health the player has got left.
In later levels, some of the Merry Men are "evil". "Evil" Merry Men, distinguished by their monochrome appearance, do not follow any preset pattern but instead walk blindly forwards, like the lemmings in the Lemmings games, without regard to dangers lying in their path. "Evil" Merry Men have to be turned into "good" Merry Men by dropping a bucket of paint over them before they can be rescued.
There is no "lives" counter in the game, meaning the player can make unlimited attempt

Returning from the Play Expo, I found my beautiful Sony WM-EX610 walkman not working right. One of the right Stereo channel just wasnt working, however flipping the cassette autoreverse to side B was working perfectly. The issue pointing to a severed/broken connection between the circuit board and the playhead. So I attempted to repair it and show the details of what I did.

Excited to present the final part of the Stereo SID project i'm doing! The SID2SID board by 8bitventures, with the Mssiah cartrdige.
If you havent seen Part 1, you can watch it here: https://youtu.be/WqlpyVzvgyk
Exploring the Mssiah cartridge (Part 3) : https://youtu.be/MU3OWjuY-wc
The SID2SID mod is a way to add an extra SID chip in order to add three extra channels, totaling six, which can be used with the Mssiah software.
However this mod by itself will not allow Stereo music from games despite having two SID chips in there.
In this video I build the SID2SID mod.
In part two, I will modify it so that it can use two different SID chips , the old 6581 and the newer 8580 simultaneously as well as having each of them work at the same time for each speaker channel.

More info about the SID chip (quoted from Wikipedia)
"The MOS Technology 6581/8580 SID (Sound Interface Device) is the built-in Programmable Sound Generator chip of Commodore's CBM-II, Commodore 64, Commodore 128 and Commodore MAX Machine home computers. It was one of the first sound chips of its kind to be included in a home computer prior to the digital sound revolution.
Together with the VIC-II graphics chip, the SID was instrumental in making the C64 the best-selling computer in history,[1] and is partly credited for initiating the demoscene.[citation needed]
