A little hot dog for when hunger strikes

The Ford GT is a two-seater supercar that was built by the Ford Motor Company in 2005. It started as a prototype designed in anticipation of Ford's centennial, and as part of its campaign to showcase and revive its "heritage" of names like Ford Mustang and Ford Thunderbird. Designers were inspired by the classic Ford GT40, a racing car from the 1960s, the GT is sometimes mistaken for its predecessor from the 1960s. In 1995, during the Detroit Auto Show, the concept of the rejuvenated Ford GT 90 was shown to the public. At the 2002 auto show, Ford unveiled a new concept for the GT40. The GT is similar in appearance to the original Ford GT40 car, but longer, wider, and 3 inches (76.2 mm) taller than the original 40-inch (101.6 cm), and as a result, among possible names was that of GT43. Although the cars are apparently structurally related, there is no similarity except for the appearance between the modern GT model and the 1960 model, the GT40 of which it was the inspiration. In any case, both originally share the objective of outperforming the comparable Ferrari cars of their time. The fulfilled objective of the Ford GT was to beat the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale. Three prototypes of cars for production were shown in 2003 as part of Ford's centenary, and production delivery of the new Ford GT began in the fall of 2004. A revamped discontinued GT40 was built by a British engineering company, Safir in the 1980s, and whose ownership of the design of the original "GT40" at that time. When production ended, the last parts of the vehicle assembly, its tooling, as well as the brand's design model, were purchased by a small company in Ohio Safir GT40 Spare Parts. This company authorized the use of the "GT40" whose brand was awarded to Ford for the initial demonstration in 2002. When Ford decided to go into production with the vehicle, negotiations between the two failed companies. The production of such cars would not yet bear the insignia of the GT40.
