While building out the location for where my honey bees are today, I set up a trail cam to see the kind of nature that is roaming around when I am not there. I put together a short video of some Deer and Squirrels seen wandering around the area.
The second day I had it alot more figured out, knowing how to teleport using my friends list I was able to get into the main stage room. Though slides were not updating for me and sometimes would not show at all. So in this video you can see how alot of it plays out for me on my side. I think other people had similar issues.

Attending the second day it was mostly presentations, I show up in the morning shortly before they begin. I think @whangster79 was still sleeping at this time and did not join me until later in the day. The start of the day some random Altspacevr users not related to Hive were joining and causing trouble. Though @qwoyn quickly banned them and we moved onto starting the Main stage events.

The first presenter had a poem to read, a nice artistic way to start off Hivefest day 2.

There was someone presenting offering API solutions for blockchains. Some questions were asked afterwards and the person that did the presentation did not seem to have answers for the questions asked.

Blurt was up next and they talked about their blockchain, good to see other chains were able to talk during Hivefest.

@arcange was up next to talk about HiveSQL and Hivebuzz. Was really great to hear HiveSQL is now free as its supported by the DHF for the funding it needs to keep it running.

After watching a few more presenters my friend shows up checks out some of the presentations with me. Eventually we go back to his virtual house and he shows me how he can hang up pictures he took in the app. I had no idea you could do that! Really cool seeing pictures of us hung up on the wall.
Really glad my friend could join us and attend Hivefest. He recently joined Hive and was excited to check out the event. He had alot of fun there.

We traveled back to the main stage and watched some more presentations, @r0nd0n came by and stood by as we watched the people presenting. He entertained himself by spinning in circles.. haha

Not sure if that was some weird Linux issue he was encountering, or just some funny clown stuff @r0nd0n is known for.. haha

The last presentation of the day was a comedy show. @themarkymark has been working on some lines and presented his routine at Hivefest. I laughed and enjoyed many of them, a couple were pretty corny but I think that was the purpose. It was really cool to see that side of Marky doing comedy. I only really know him from the antiabuse side of things so seeing him do a comedy show was pretty cool.

I jump to the middle of the Hivefest day 2 presentations, got my video clips a little mixed up. @crimsonclad comes on and talks about her Hive experience along with the project she has been working on Hive with called The NFT Showroom. Seems her audio got a little messed up half way through her presentation but maybe it was just on my side.

A few things to note from day 2, the slides would not update for me unless I left and came back in. This proved to be hard as sometimes the room could fill up and I could not join my friends. Sometimes the slides would not show up at all. So I just listened the best I could and I watched the Hivefest replays after the event to see what slides people were talking about.

These solitary bee homes are made from 2x4's and long wood screws. Once all assembled, all that needs to be done is have a bunch of holes drilled into it for the Mason bees to use. I built a few dozen for project and set my camera to do a mix of video lapse and normal 1080p video. I added some music to it since the video lapse is lacking any sound. And I uploaded it to LBRY with the music so there wont be any issues.
This module keeps the screen busy by showing flocks of different objects. You can change between dots, atoms, cameras and sperm. The objects move together as if they were a flock of birds. I think that is where it gets its name. Its pretty simple but still fun to watch.
This video is a little over thirty minutes long.
Screen savers in the 1990s had a purpose, to stop screen burn in. Afterdark is a screen saver application released in 1989 and produced many versions of their screen saver app up through the 2000s. I will be showing off the various modules included in this thirty year old application (Version 4.0) released in 1996. Some may remember the Flying Toasters as a screen saver. Or maybe some other, but as an early Mac user myself these all bring back memories for me.
I run the screensavers on a Windows ME virtual machine, and capture the screen using OBS. Some of the screensavers crash, probably due to emulation of the virtual machine. But others run flawlessly. The computers during the days of these screen savers only had a few hundred megabytes of RAM and few hundred megahertz of processing power. Even with these constraints some amazing screensavers were designed by Berkeley Systems and Sierra.
This fruiting bush has not been doing so well for the last year, it is affected by a virus that Aphids carry. Its causing the leaves to curl, and the fruit to be malformed. There is no way that I know to treat this virus, and all research shows that cutting them back and removing the affected leaves and fruit is about all you can do.
I was wondering why I have not seen any Raspberries growing in the wild, this must be the reason. The Aphids around where I live carry this virus which the Raspberry plants are susceptible to.
During recording of this video I pull up and cut away any affected plants, and show what I am looking for to show that they have the leaf curl virus. I would like to keep them but if they are all affected by this virus I think ill just need to pull them up and grow something different in the area. The bush lasted almost 10 years, which was an okay run for them. They tend to live 15 to 20 years so I got many years of great berries before the virus really but some hurt on the plant.
I am now growing a Hardy Kiwi vine in the area, and trying some Blackberry plants as well. We shall see if the virus returns to affect the Blackberry plants. Its hard to say but its possible. So growing the Hardy Kiwi vine is my backup plant if the Blackberry plants do not work out.
I do not think I will try to grow any more Raspberries here in Georgia. Maybe if I move somewhere else its worth a try again. But knowing Aphids did this I do not think I can stop them from causing harm again.
Never thought id be an Asparagus farmer, but I sure love the stuff so just made sense to grow my own. I usually eat at least two to three bundles of it a week and having my own would be a great value and get a fresher food source than whats found at the markets.
I planted about sixty clusters, about twenty so far have emerged at the time of this video and started growing a stalk and leaves. They can kind of hard to see in the video as they are very small but glad after two weeks they emerged. I was worried maybe I planted them too deep, or maybe not soaking them in water was an issue. But now im happy to see many of them coming up and leafing out.
Once they broke the surface of the soil they grow a few feet reaching up towards the light.
If all of these keep growing, where I am standing you would not even be able to see me. I saw pictures online of others plants that are a few years old and they can be quite large.
I planted this area full of them, about two feet apart of each other. So hoping the rest come up as well. I added mulch to the rows and it helps mold the moisture in, and also supports them a little bit.
I bought Purple Passion, Mary Washington and Jersey Knight Giant. So I have three different kinds, hope they all do well. I placed them all mixed up, I can see the purple stalks come out of the ground but they quickly turn green and then I have no idea which ones are quick.
For right now im just going to let them leaf out, its too early to eat them. I need to allow the plant to build up its strength over time and letting them grow without trimming is the way to do that. But maybe in a year or two I can start to take some off and enjoy the stalks in my cooking. Until then Ill just have to enjoy them as an ornamental plant and let them grow as much as they want.
Just about every week, I slice up and roast some spuds. One day maybe they will all be ones that I grew, but for now I will need to buy them at the local market. I switch between eating Gold or also known as Yellow Potatoes, and Sweet Potatoes.
By the late fall I should have some home grown Sweet Potatoes. But they are a few months away, and the ones I grew last year only lasted me about a month.
I start off by preparing a Sweet Potato for roasting. I slice into but not completely through, just enough to open up the core while still leaving the parts attached. I do this all the way down the spud, sometimes I cut all the way through. Not a big deal just got two of them instead of one to roast.
By cutting these slices into the whole Sweet Potato it cooks faster, otherwise it may take over an hour to be ready in the oven.
I move onto cutting up the Golden Potatoes. I just quarter them into pieces or smaller depending on the size of the spud. They usually do not need anywhere as long as the Sweet Potatoes. About half the time depending on the size of each.
Adding spices to the Golden Potatoes give them a great flavor. I use a mix of garlic, onion, turmeric, salt and pepper. I stir them once added so its all mixed around the spuds. I cook the Gold Potatoes in Pyrex dishes at 420F for about thirty minutes. And I cook the Sweet Potatoes at a higher temp (around 450F) for a little less than an hour. I test with a fork to make sure they are cooked throughout.
By having these potatoes, it can really stretch my vegetables throughout the week. I find when cooking Beans and Potatoes, I use about half of the veggies I would otherwise want to eat. So its always good to have a little bit of variety in what veggies are being consumed.
Looking forward to trying my own in a few months, they are leaves are tasty in the mean time from the Sweet Potato plant. I chew on them whenever im out there by them.
I have two of these Holly like bushes, they were growing side by side but we quickly getting too big. So I moved one of them and they seem to be more happy with the space. One of them is pretty tall, about six feet and the other is more wide around three or four feet.

Looking forward to the flowers opening and giving my bees a good food source. They open during the late winter or early spring and have a bright lemon yellow color to them.

Hopefully the flowers will turn into berries and I can harvest them to make a jam. I did this a few years ago and tasted great, kind of like cranberries. I cook the berries and strain them to get the juices and then let it cook down into a jam.

Pretty amazed how big one of them has gotten since moving the second plant. I hear they can grow over ten feet tall so its got awhile to go before full height. And being an evergreen it could make a nice privacy barrier.
https://i.postimg.cc/BnCJhD6V/vlcsnap-2021-02-28-08h41m58s058.png
I may try propagating more of them this summer, I hear cutting off a stem and soaking it in water, then rooting hormone and placing in a pot is enough. It would be cool to line the area where I removed the big trees so I can have an edible bush and some privacy. Since they will never grow as big as the trees it would be nice to have and not worry about crowding like the larger trees caused. The thorns on the leaves would provide good security as well, it reminds me of a holly bush in that way.

One of the few plants that flower this early on in the year I am glad to have it, just hope the birds do not eat all the tasty berries before I can get to them.
Using the heavy vehicle feature along with the push option I can move vehicles with ease. I was playing with that feature in the last gameplay video and just keep having fun with it.
I find myself on a freeway and just have fun with the trainer. With angry peds still on the cars will try to crash into me and even airplanes as well. Anything from small airplanes to large jetliners will try to go for you sometimes. There is another mod that does it much better with aircraft trying to attack you. Going down the wrong side of the freeway I send cars flying. Using a basic car it does not get damaged. I guess the pushing of vehicles happen before they collide with my vehicle.
I found myself hung up on a guard post and took a few seconds to get off of it. Changing vehicles after awhile as I get bored with the one I have.
There are many other features to play around with in these trainers. I have alot of fun trying out different features in them and turn multiple ones on at the same time. I think the moon gravity would add some more fun to the angry peds/drivers and the push car feature. It would make them go flying even further.

Getting the energy sword gives me a weapon that does not run out of ammo. It also lights up the area a little bit. Reminds me of a light saber but it has its own feel to it. I steal it from one of the labs in Hong Kong and now have to escape. On my first attempt I run right into some WiB and MiB and they kill me. So I tried again with a different approach, using gas grenades I threw them in an area where the guards would want to be. And by attracting them I tested to see if they would come into the grenades proximity.
I was able to gather them in an area but threw too many grenades so I tried again but with less throws this time. I wait for them to appear but I am greeter by one of the MJ12 troops with a rocket launcher. Playing it a few more times I can take out one of the robot guards easily but the others seem to really put a hurting on me. Finally using a LAM grenade I am satisfied with taking out a bunch at once.
Playing Deus Ex gives alot of flexibility on how to get through a mission. It makes playing it over and over again alot of fun. I usually go for the brute force approach but I learn about secrets on different levels as I play more and more. I have probably played this game a half dozen times by now. And really cool the GMDX mod remade it with fresh graphics.
