The commissary is cheap quality yet extremely expensive and overpriced. Most of the men in the pod are women beaters, and I just hated being at this jail in general. I wanted out.

This is a video request or requested video, however it’s worded lol. A lovely person wrote me a sweet comment asking whether or not it is a bad idea or good idea to write a prisoner. The quick answer to this really good question is that I personally think that it is an excellent idea to write a prisoner. People in prison are very very lonely and it is honestly such a depressing place in there that you will probably and most likely be saving a person’s life by reaching out and giving them someone nice to talk to. HOWEVER!!! Buyer Beware!!! My opinion is that you should PROCEED WITH CAUTION when it comes to initiating contact with a convicted felon currently locked up behind bars serving out a sentence doing time in prison. DO NOT GIVE HIM OR HER ANY MONEY UNLESS YOU DECIDE TO DO SO. Wait a considerable amount of time before you decide to give any money. IF THE PERSON IN PRISON EVER IS THE FIRST ONE TO MENTION OR DROP CLUES HINTING THAT THEY NEED MONEY OR WANT YOU TO SEND MONEY …RUN!!!!!!!!!! I mean it. That is a definite red flag. Inmates and offenders who post a profile on these sites have had to PAY for their profiles to be posted on the website. Therefore, if they have the money to post a profile, they are not desperately in need of money. Their first priority in meeting someone online should SOLEY be for the purpose of making a genuine and REAL connection with somebody. I hope this helps! Good luck boo with these cray cray cons?

This journal entry is from September 13, 2016. That is the million dollar question. What is normal in prison? Unless you have been there, it is very hard to understand. Everything is backwards. People don’t talk to other people for no reason. There is always a motive, an agenda, an angle as to why someone is talking to you. No one is nice, period, in prison. It is so “normal” not to be nice to someone in prison, that when someone is being nice it actually makes that person look very suspicious and untrustworthy. Also, pretty looking men are treated the absolute worst in prison because the average person in prison is so ugly that it makes men feel uncomfortable if they find another man attractive. So, I quickly noticed that typically most of the “pretty boys” are usually bullied, or teased, or isolated and alone. EVERYONE is so miserable and mean and negative and angry all the time, and practically NO ONE is honest inside prison. It is so normal to lie about anything and everything in prison (for no reason at all). So, what is normal in prison? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. The culture and the mentality of prison is so bizarre and backwards that it is kind of hard to explain. But what is REALLY insane is that because it is so common from one person to the next, to the next, to the next, all of these strange and unusual traits and habits are actually NORMAL inside prison. It is a weird wild world in there?
