Progressive trance features long builds and more subtle breakdowns. The line between prog house and prog trance is blurry, and that's been the case since the mid-90s. The best example I can think of is Sasha - Xpander. Even to this day, some call it trance, some call it house. Talking about progressive specifically, it gives a sense of, yes… progression. In Progressive music that sense of progression and immersive building-up is the goal itself and it is consistent, often with no climax or big emotional peaks which other genres typically have but what I do is with A Progressive Journey is I find a balance between tracks that are only progressive vs tracks that are that but also focus on big climax’s and emotional peaks. In most of my sets I do progress from progressive trance to uplifting trance.
