This is a Steve Good pattern. He titled it "City Car". I used some seconds package light walnut for the car and some ash for the fenders and grill. I stained the body of the car lightly and the wheels dark. I was trying to get a two tone effect and I think it worked. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--7pcDtaHY8
I found this plane project in an older book a couple of years ago and finally decided to try it. I made a few adjustments due to material differences but I like the way it turned out. The struts are 3/16 instead of 1/8 and I mounted the prop differently. The plans did not have a lot of detail on the wheels and struts so I kind of "winged" it. The compound cuts for the body and strut were a little difficult but they cut ok. I have found several other model/toy projects and will attempt them in the future.

I play guitar a little as a hobby, not very well but for fun. I tend to lay the picks down and we have cats. They love to knock things on the floor and then who knows where they go. I saw a box to hold them on Amazon and then found a video that copied that box. So I decided to try that myself. I also cut the picks. I found a free image online of a guitar outline and used that. It is all made of walnut.

A video to discuss the methods of stacking and cutting pieces that are indentical only in the outline or external cut of the pieces. In the video I glue the piece with the internal cuts already made to a piece intended to be a backing on a two piece layered project. To get the outline of two pieces identical they need to be layered and cut at the same time either before or after the internal cuts are done.

Five ornaments from Steve Good. The two round ornaments are just two of a set in one pattern. I cut the ones I liked the best. The nativity tree I stack cut from different woods to make two that I could mix and match. These are fairly easy patterns with the deer antlers and the snowflakes being the most delicate to cut. I used a #3 blade on most of them and a #5 on the stack cut. Everything here is cut from wood in my growing scrap pile.

This bowl has flared rim with a brick pattern. The designer of this bowl is Carole Rothman. I did not have on hand the same material that she used. She used spated sycamore for the main body and teak for the lines. I used poplar for the main body and a darker unknown wood for the lines. On the second cut I used the incorrect angle and had to remake the blank after scavenging material. There was about a week in between and did not have as good a blank as the original. That is not a gap or hole in the floor of the bowl but a spot I had to fill to get it level. It looked better after finishing. Not real happy with it but the shaping turned out pretty good. All in all a good learning experience.

This is from a Sue Mey pattern in "Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts" magazine spring of 2018 issue. I made it as a birthday gift for my wife and filled it with chocolate Easter candy but it would be an excellent pencil box.

This bowl is made from thin material. It uses two quarter inch layers of contrasted wood, in this case ash and mahogany. They are cut into eight pie shaped segments and glued into a six and one half inch circle in alternating woods and used as a blank to cut the bowl. This one did not come out perfect but I will revisit this bowl with an alternative ring thickness and two more rings that makes a taller narrow bowl.

This video is a construction of a Steve Good pattern. He calls it "Desktop Gear Art/Fidget Spinner". To me two things are critical to make this project correctly on the scroll saw. Number one is to get the central holes of the gears as accurate as possible so the gear will rotate evenly. Number two is to cut the outer teeth of the gears very slowly and carefully. I have to continualy remind myself that this is not a race. Speed only counts in timed constests and when you are getting paid by the piece. So slow and steady is key. Link to pattern below
