Amtrak Train 151 and 152 Pass at HAMNER (Alt Take)
Alternate view of the previous video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oy_FZwua8Pc ) where the new morning Amtrak Train 151 to Roanoke passes the slightly more established Train 152 morning train from Roanoke just short of HAMNER interlocking about 20 miles south of Charlottesville, VA. The 4 mile long section of double track was enough to allow Train 152 to make the pass without coming to a complete stop.
This episode covers a signal related road trip I took in the New York Capital Region over President's Day Weekend 2007 as well as the Amtrak NEC/Empire Service journeys I took to/from Albany. Specifically covered are visits to Boston Line CP-187 and the Hoosac Tunnel. Part 1 covers the northbound journey and CP-187.

View from the rear of Amtrak Train #172 as is runs from New Rochelle, CT to Stamford, CT. This is part of Metro North's New Haven Line where Amtrak operates as a tenant. For this reason speeds are slower than on other portions of the NEC.
This part of the New Haven Line was first electrified in 1906. When MNRR replaced the overhead system, the original lattice gantries were refurbished and retained.
