I had a balut the first day, or rather night, in the Philippines. I thought I would try it again in the daylight. A balut is a fertilized duck embryo that is boiled and eaten in the shell. Popularly believed to be an aphrodisiac and considered a high-protein, hearty snack, balut are mostly sold by street vendors. It is commonly sold as street food in the Philippines.(From Wikipedia) I moved to The Philippines with a backpack, my computer, and drawing/art material. To write play and make videos. This video has a complementary 'conversation with Myra' that will be posted. It seems to be much more practical than a voice over.
To replant the Cassava, the leaves are removed from the stem. The stem is then cut into sections about 6 to 8 inches long. They are then stuck in the ground. They are very easy to start. You just put them in the ground rain or dry and in about a week they will start baring leaves. Six months later they are ready to harvest. The tenacity of this plant to survive and flourish in the harsh dry environment as well as the monsoon season what makes it a viable food source.
Here is a very informative article on Cassava from Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassava
Myra's trip to Bohol, to visit her family was her first vacation. She got to visit her relatives with no one to look after. She got a chance to make videos and be a tourist in her own country.

Now this is some good food for any ones mouth. I love Tilapia and the way Myra fixes it gives you tastgasms. This is one recipe however she has a couple different ways to cook it. The video pretty much explains the recipe.
GINATAANG TILAPYA - with ginger garlic, onion, pitchay, chili peppers, coconut milk and seasoning. Fry the talapia first - separately fry the onions, garlic, and ginger. You may also want to cook the peppers in the mix. ( add salt and your choice of seasoning - we use salt and sometimes pepper ) Then add the talapia when they are done. Put the pichay on top with coconut milk. Cover and cook until It smells so good you have to look at it.

Here I was, sitting in front of my computer, uploading a video, and I hear all kinds of noise outside. Took me a minute to realize it was a parade, a Valentines Day Parade and right outside my door. By the time I got to the door the neighbors were already outside my gate, yelling, trying to get my attention to come out and video the festivity. No one mentioned it to me before and even Myra, Queen of Chismis (Gossip), didn't know about it.

My trip to the Philippines was a gamble. I met Myra online and thought she seemed like a very interesting and 'Good' person I had never been to Asia and to be honest never even considered visiting any Asian countries. I decided to come over and visit this astoundingly interesting woman. It was the best decision I could have made.
I had been overseas, However only in Europe. I have been to Germany, Spain, France, The Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, and Switzerland. What I enjoyed most of all in Europe was a chance to experience another lifestyle and culture. I have found the Filipino lifestyle and Filipino culture much to my liking. I have found a home here.

Myra has always kept very busy as anyone that watches this channel knows. She has always wanted a stable Philippine Business Myra's Clothing Store just might provide that. She has had an underlying desire for a clothing store for about two years. That desire is coming into a reality.
Myra is undertaking a lot of new construction, renovating to get her store in shape. She has an accumulated small inventory and adds to it every chance. She has no desire for used cloths, not an Ukay Ukay store. She wants a store with new clothes. The next video will show the progress. Still a ways off but surely approaching a functioning store rapidly

I have always loved programming and retired from a career in computer automation. Once again I have gotten very involved in computers. I am an avid Python and JavaScript enthusiast. My retirement in the Philippines began in Sept 6, 2012. I filled a backpack with drawing/art material and a laptop to write and headed overseas to live a dream . I am still in the Philippines. The trends of AI created imagery has opened door to new forms of video creation and computer imagery. I have united my love for video production and Python Flask to create FlaskAppArchitect a video Creator using AI images.
I also make videos of my life in the Philippines. My life overseas has been the adventure of my lifetime. This Vlog of life here is for my memories and show my friends and family back in the USA the Filipino lifestyle and show the world the joy of overseas retirement.
