My work provides an optimistic view of technology’s role in shaping our identity and relationships with each other.
The subjects are strangers to me, just as they are to the viewer of the finished work. Being a visual artist, I use my eyes to learn about the person, and in the process find commonalities between us.
Knitting (a form of binary code) is included because of its continuous flow of fibers that mirrors our interconnectedness as people.
These pieces are created using new and old machines. Incorporating technology in the process reflects my life with metal implants; as I am a balance between organic and inorganic so should my art.

I like to keep my digital drawing process pretty simple. I typically work with just 3 layers. Under painting, Line drawing, and Crosshatch. Sometimes I’ll throw in a couple other layers if I’m working with a colored background or I’m adding a bit of texture to the background but usually it’s just the 3. I also keep the brushes simple. I do most of my work with the 6B pencil and sometimes I’ll add the soft pastel brush. I want the end product to feel as much like a hand drawing as possible so this has worked for me. When I first explored digital drawing it all seemed so overwhelming with all the color and brush options but once I limited my supplies it all felt much more doable.
