My name is John Frost I'm 49 years old. I have been training in martial arts for 27 years and teaching martial arts for 21 years. I got involved with kettlebells I think in 2001 whenever Pavel Tsatsouline's first book the Russian kettlebell challenge came out. i happened to be following him for stretching and some other stuff and was kind of in that first wave of people who got involved in kettlebells way back then and followed that system uh for a long long time and then I guess a couple years ago maybe two years ago or so I found Taco's channel on youtube the Cavemantraining channel and really just became very inspired by his technique and his videos. It was a new style of kettlebell training that I wasn't really familiar with, I had looked into competition lifts but not a whole lot. I've been always very kind of stuck in the Hardstyle which I really love. So i just poured through all the videos on his channel and really I almost felt guilty that there was so much free information on his youtube channel so I think I ordered a book and maybe some t-shirts or something from the website and ultimately ended up in the closed private Facebook group and that to me has been terrific you know so uh. You get a great workout every week and but more than that you know that's one thing but you also get progressions warm-ups cooldowns alternatives um all of those things that are really uh I think geared to make you successful. But even more so than that i think what's valuable to me is the access to Taco and Anna that you can ask questions post videos and get almost instant responses and you can say hey guys you know I'm trying to increase my military press or I need to work on a double squat or whatever it is. uh, and they'll give you advice and help and great coaching so that's very powerful. But the reason why uh you know after 20 years of kettlebell training i'm still involved in in this group is because of the community they've created so I feel very much like me and Taco and Anna are friends even though I've never met them I fully expect that someday uh we're gonna meet train and then go have a nice dinner and a glass of wine and and have a conversation like we've known each other forever. So uh that's very powerful there are guys in the group from India who i'm sure I will never meet but I feel very connected to them and their achievements and their training uh so that's really I think the power of the the private group is yeah you get all the workouts and all the that. um but really you get the community and the connection to people in the Taco and Anna um and Nacho the dog you know what more could you want so uh the price it's worth a hundred times what we pay for it I don't even know when I get charged it's such a small amount it just shows I don't pa

In this video, I delve into some shoulder issues created by bad kettlebell technique, overuse, or incorrect programming. It especially focuses on issues with the kettlebell snatch but applies to anything overhead. I will provide some solutions on how to avoid the issues but also how to heal quicker once you have shoulder issues.

The Kettlebell Workout
A grinding strength workout with some cardio mixed in. For the video, the weight will not matter, but if you want to use this workout in your regular training—which you should—then note that the first sequence (A) should be performed with a medium weight as it's still part of the warm-up and the subsequent ones with a heavier weight. The first sequence (B) should be performed with a medium to heavy weight (20kg) and the subsequent one should be performed with the heaviest weight possible (24kg++).
Session structure
4 minutes bodyweight warm-up
10 seconds transition
2 minutes sequence A)
10 seconds transition
6 minutes EMOM sequence B)
10 seconds transition
2 minutes sequence A)
10 seconds transition
6 minutes EMOM sequence B)
10 seconds transition
2 minutes sequence A)
All up, about 22 minutes of work.
The movements are grinding, which means you go as slow as possible, the intention is to take as long as you can and complete the full sequence B) in about 50 seconds which gives you about 10 seconds to rest before the next rep. If you can, make the sequence last for the full minute.

This is part two of Master Kettlebell Grips, this is THE most important thing you can learn to lay a good foundation for your kettlebell training journey.
There are 7 parts to this, make sure to check them all out. There is also a free PDF that you can download from our website with photos and more information called Master Kettlebell Grips and you can find it by going directly to our online shop or using your favorite search engine and typing Master Kettlebell Grips by Cavemantraining. I also suggest getting the free PDF Master Kettlebell Racking.
If you are having issues with your clean, swing, press, things like blisters, forearm banging, bruising, and more, then it's more than likely caused by an incorrect grip, no grip transition, incorrect placement, etc. Watching this series of Master Kettlebell Grips will get you on your way to laying the proper foundation in kettlebell training for years to come. Spending a little time here now is going to be super valuable to you later in your journey, please remember IKU™ and Cavemantraining™ later in your journey.
