Karen of the Dead - Team 3: A Phasmophobia Parody
A team of professional ghost hunters get more than they bargained for when they find out they’re dealing with a Karen from beyond the grave, and struggle to escape the house she haunts. She seems to have unfinished business on the mortal plane, and wants to speak to a manager.
So, this was actually salvaged from my external drive and re-edited after I had to reinstall Windows 10 back in January. This was supposed to come out back in January as Part 3 of the Phasmophobia parody-skits we filmed about that time, but my PC became inoperable before I could do so. Watch Parts 1 & 2 here:

Either way, I still play Phasmophobia, even now. The only time I had an experience like this is during any Professional level difficulty contract at the James Brown High School – by the time I find the Ghost, the Ghost keeps attacking no matter what you do in the school. While being attacked by the Ghost more than two times in a house is rare, it’s not unheard of. Never stuck around without taking sanity pills to try for a third.

For those that don’t know, Phasmophobia is a multiplayer game where 1 – 4 players investigate a domicile or structure and try to determine the location and what kind of ghost is haunting the location without getting killed. With a variety of tools to aid in this task, they are also given a list of optional objectives to complete, usually involving taking a photo of the ghost or detecting it in some manner (IE use of salt or motion detectors.) They then that to leave the house safely, and if they’re correct in their assessment or completed all the objectives, they receive a couple hundred dollars for their troubles. It’s a pretty unique concept that I haven’t seen executed so well, and the game’s technically still in early access and still receives updates to this day. You can get this on Steam for about $15, and what’s unique about it is, you can either play it in Desktop mode or in VR.

So, last night, I stayed on VRChat just a little longer than I was planning on. Went to hang out with my good friend MegaMako, and her friend was nice enough to show off some of their new animations, which turned the field into a midnight rave scene. Loved the music, loved the experience, and just had to record it down to post onto YouTube for all to see. Just goes to show some people, using Unity and Blender, can really showcase their creativity in the virtual reality scene and make for a good time. This was definitely bordering on midnight, hence the name of the video. Pardon the dance moves, but without full-body tracking, I'm limited to my headset and controllers to really move, or animations, but those kinda suck...unless they're from Fortnite. x3
Got a ton of videos in the back log that need to be processed and submitted, but I've had a pretty bad case of procrastinitus, and work and drama have not helped motivate me to jump to action. But! I'll do my best in the coming days once I get some stuff taken care of and out of the way.

My apologies for the delay in releasing this video, guys. So, Katsucon happened on February 16th this year, ending on the 18th, as per usual. So that was a Friday - Saturday window, with some people arriving Thursday night. All in all, I had a great time, even though I only stayed for a single day, and that was Friday. Didn't go Saturday on account of snowfall and questionable weather conditions, and I wasn't going to risk it when I had things to do back at the house.
More or less just went to record some footage. I regrettably didn't get a badge in probably not staying the full 3 days, but hey, at least I got to take a glance at the various cosplays and venues taking place, so that's something, right? Anyway, I didn't really get into interviewing people on the fly towards a little after mid-way through the walkthrough, and might make a separate video encapsulating the improv interviews themselves. As with each and every visit to The Gay Lord, I was treated to a fantastic time socializing with various people on the finer points in anime and pop culture, and getting to link up with people I knew through the con scene.
Hope you enjoy the video, guys. Not as good or as interesting as some of the other Convention Walk Throughs, but eh, y'know how it is. Given the impromptu nature of each, you're going to see a lot of variance in these kinds of videos. Till next time, everybody, and take care.

Putt-Putt Pond Mini Golf is a fairly enjoyable little hang out spot where players can enjoy a round of Mini-Golf across a scenic backdrop, complete with a Waterfall, Rolling Hills, and valleys. But not all is well in the valley, as two groups have emerged, both of which neighbor one another. A bitter rivalry has developed, with an “us” vs “them” mentality between Waterfall Ridge and Hilltop Meadows. These two groups will face one another in Mini-Golf to decide who the best players of the park are, though, what begins as harsh language and threats of violence turn into actual violence, helped along by an unlikely malcontent.
So, the idea for this came from a conversation I had with someone, where I was imagining some medieval-esque battle occurring at a Mini-Golf course with combatants going into battle with golf clubs. A friend ran with the idea for a few minutes and alluded to the idea that gangs would form based on the part of the course they had an affinity or loyalty for. From there, I wrote a little script and the cast was willing to act it out. A little longer than some of the usual shorts I go for, but hey, I wanted it to come out just as I imagined it would.

Go check out the level sometime – it’s fairly good if you’re into Mini-Golf, and provides a little diversion from staring into the mirror all day while you chat and hang out with friends.

So after a film shoot one night, me and some of the fellas were hanging out at the local 7-11 in VRChat, and, well….after hanging out for a while, this sorta just happened. We were talking about what got us into the furry fandom, and PsyberPymp decided to regale us all of his childhood memories and what turned him into a Furry. Was a neat story, however brief – I threw this together last night after the last video dropped, and figured you all might enjoy it.
Might be an occasional mini-series on the side. Either way, I was a big Digimon fan to, right up through Season 3 before I sorta grew out of it. It’s why I like Renamon so much.

Played this a good while back and haven’t had the chance to really go through it to make a video out of it. Developed by Official Sayon, Unshattered Destination is a VR horror game located in VRChat as its own world instance. Coming in at 290.03 Megabytes and supporting up to two players, it’s a great two player co-op experience for anyone that’s got a good friend to play it with. We played it the whole way through, but that would be about three and a half hours – I decided I’d break up gameplay footage on a chapter by chapter basis. There’s four chapters in all, each with its own set of challenges and story. It’s not the scariest VR game I’ve played, but, what I think of as scary and what you might think is scary are two entirely different things, so your mileage may vary.
Thanks to my buddy Specopcleric for playing this with me the whole way through in one go – you’re great. And thanks to OfficialSayon for releasing a solid indie-style horror game – I liked it!

So, it’s been a while since we covered Shroom Girl. Apparently, she’s presumably lawyered up and is receiving legal council. I’m not sure what their long-term game plan could be, but their options are kind of limited if this is the direction they’re going to go now, given everything that’s happened. They ruined so many opportunities for themselves to bow out gracefully or escape the situation at large unscathed and (mostly) unknown, but, they didn’t. But hey, look at it this way – they wanted to be the Queen of the trolls and enjoy all that e-clout and fame that they could possibly ever want. And, in a way? They got what they wished for. As far as I’m concerned, she made her bed – she can go ahead and sleep in it.
The story’s not over, though. Just another development. Found out about it yesterday after I was covering the KaijuCostumes story. Can’t say I’m too surprised, but I’m more concerned about Bellas family at this point. Given that he’s something of a war hero, I think the father, Mike, deserves a whole hell of a lot better than what he got. The mother seems to be a more refined version of the daughter, and the daughter, well, you all already know all about her: we talked about it to great length.
Texas Tech Univ. still hasn’t made an official statement or done anything apparent about the whole thing, and this wouldn’t be the first time that Bella has been investigated before. Surprise, right? Ah well. She’ll probably get away with all this scott-free, but the material will remain online for all to see, and for some, that’s enough. And, enough of the students have come forth to talk about their experiences with her, or know enough to keep their distance.
In any case, Chris Chans second court appearance steadily approaches - three more days...

This was a free form improv session that we filmed a while back, but I didn’t get a chance to really edit or process it up until now due to school, life, and other things getting in the way. Either way, kind of a slow burn compared to some of our other improv sessions, but I generally liked it. The contrast of personalities made for some interesting interactions as the characters contemplate the bizarre nature of their situation, all while trying to wait for a bus that might never come, in space.
