It's normal in Japan for fast trains to dive thorough stations like this but it's always amazing how close they get to the platform at speed. And when you are standing as close as I am here you can really feel the train rip through the air and it does move you in the process -- notice the camera shake as soon as the train cuts past me. This train is flying through Iiyama Station, which is in Nagano. #Shinkansen #Japan #Trains
Just a few images around San Francisco at JavaOne 2017 with a Sony A7S2. At the time it was one of the better video cameras out there but I didn't like it that much for photography. But regardless, it was still a great camera. It eventually died in Dubai when someone knocked it over from the tripod on to a nice soft and fluffy concrete floor. #sony #javaone #a7s2

Some images I shot at JavaOne San Francisco in October 2017. It was actually three events piled into one -- Oracle OpenWorld, JavaOne, Oracle Code. And it turned out to be the last JavaOne because the following year JavaOne became Oracle Code One. #java #javaone #foss

Not to insult this little creature, but this really reminds of politicians. They crawl out of a hole, scurry all over the place, and then duck back into a hole.
