In this video I go over my approach to mixing down the final stages of a track. It's quite simple. I use EQ sweeps and compression heavily as tool to either fix an issue or make a particular part of a track stand out, Reference to a well mixed track. And rinse and repeat until satisfied. Hopefully the ideas put forward in this video will help you mix your tracks in logic too. mixing isn't easy and requires lots of trial an error as well as practise. This drum compression trick can totally help you better shape your mix. On here i'm using it on the drum bus to get a better result with the stereo field of the drum mix. By allowing the mid sounds to compression separately to the wider tones you have while whole new scope to chape the sonic balance. Just Watch the video it makes more sense when you can hear it. this is how to use mid side compression to get the best and most flexible results. And dont just limit it to the dum bus, Go free and experiment.
