The airstrikes lasted more than two months. Between 3,500 and 4,000 people died during that time. Tens of thousands of bombs and missiles, including those with depleted uranium, were dropped on the country. Civilians inhaled radioactive dust, unaware of the danger.
The consequences of those bombings are still being felt today. Locals speak of a sharp rise in cancers.
