From http://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/pool-plaster.html - Steve talks about what would cause the plaster interior surface in your pool to turn green. Once a plaster turns starts to age it will become more porous which will allow bacteria and algae to hide from the chlorine and brushing that you do to your walls. While you could acid wash the pool, this would only serve to make the problem of the plaster being too rough even worse.

http://www.SwimmingPoolSteve.com - If your pool filter has a leak from the band clamp around the body (or around the filter head on sand filters) this is most likely a result of the clamp not being tight enough. Just to make sure there is not another problem it is a good idea to take the clamp off, inspect the O-ring for debris or sand, as well as lubricating the O-ring with a silicone based lubricant made for pool and spa applications. If this does not resolve your filter leak then you need to take a rubber mallet and tap the clamp all the way around the circumference of the filter and then try tightening it again. What you will notice is that tapping it with the mallet seats the clamp a little tighter to the filter body and you can now get a few more turns out of the clamp. This will usually resolve the leak problem.
If you discover that your filter is broken and you will need a replacement be sure to read the pool filter review and buyers guide from Steve here: http://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/filter-reviews.html

http://www.SwimmingPoolSteve.com - If you have foam in your hot tub this is usually a result of the hot tub filters being dirty. Hot tub filters are made from paper and the become saturated with oil (sweat, makeup, lotions) when they get dirty. This results in foam when you turn the jets on. Many hot tub companies will tell you to use an "anti foam" product which is simply a liquid silicone that reduces the surface tension of the water. Also hot tub owners are often told to increase the calcium hardness of the water since soft water will promote foaming. While both of these tips will help to reduce the foam they do not address the reason why you have the foam in the first place. In most cases the hot tub filters are simply dirty and need to be changed.

From http://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/vinyl-liners.html - If you have wrinkles under pool returns on a vinyl liner pool this is an indication that the liner has moved from its original position. This is most commonly because the pool was improperly drained (below 6" of water covering the floor of the shallow end).

From www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/pool-blog.html this short video looks at the air control knobs for the air venturi on step jets. It is common for pool owners to not know what these controls do. When closed there is no air able to access the system so the jets are clear water only. When you open these air control knobs you allow air into the top side of the jet and the force of water leaving the jet draws in ambient air which mixes with the water. This gives the frothy, white bubbles normally associated with massage jets. A very common problem you can encounter with jets like these is losing the (very easy to lose) O-rings that control the water side and air side of the massage jet. Without those properly in place you will shoot water out of the top of this air control valve when you turn on the step jets.

From https://www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/vs-programming.html - This video breaks down the cost and flow for a 24 hour variable speed pump filtration schedule. The pump in this example is the Hayward Variable Speed Super Pump model # SP2603VSP running on a system with 1.5" plumbing and approximately 30' head resistance to flow. With this dynamic 24 hour schedule you will see a little over 50,000 gallons of water filtered for just over $1.00.
To see this same schedule on a 2" plumbing system, watch this video:
