I tackle the question of whether or not you can record an SF-920 on your iPhone. I successfully do so using the above adapter and the voice memos app. I have not done further testing of other microphones yet. I should note that you cannot alter the microphones gain on your phone, so you will need to have a microphone that allows gain adjustments, or you can you just back up from the microphone if you want. I also don't know how much power the iPhone puts out, so I am uncertain what kind of microphones it will be able to work with. I will do more testing and research.
Today I review a new budget condenser mic from Mackie, the EM-91C. This is a rather dark condenser microphone, but it avoids any kind of sibilance or fatiguing sounds. Due to the treble and air cut it’s not as detailed or articulate as other affordable condenser, but I find it much more pleasing to listen to. I also compare it to the Neewer NW700, the Audio Technica AT2020, and the Neat King Bee.

Today I review my favorite $100 mic that I have ever used. This thing sounds great on guitar and voice, and also offers excellent background noise rejection. I like this thing so much that I own 4 of them, and think every studio should own at least 1.

Today I review a wireless gaming microphone, the Mod Mic Wireless. Full disclosure, this was sent to me by Antlion in order to conduct this review. This mic has great wireless functionality, but in the sound department I think it’s a step backwards from the Mod Mic 4 and 5. This loses all the body that was so appealing in the wired mics from Antlion, and the capsule seems extremely easy to overload. I think if you can get by with a wired gaming mic, you should go with the Mod Mic 4 or Mod Mic 5, they sound a LOT better. But if you absolutely NEED a wireless mic, this does still sound better than many gaming headset’s audio.

Today I review the brand new mic from Soyuz, the 1973. This is a midforward microphone with a tame top end. It does a respectable job at plosive rejection, but suffers from a little bit of resonance and lack of shock rejection. If you're looking for that midforward sound with a non-overpowering upper end, this is an interesting option.
