Today I review the FiFine K669 USB Podcast Mic which is a $25 Budget USB Microphone that performs pretty well for the price. It likely won't work well for any professional applications, but for personal use, it should be sufficient.

Today I review the microphone used in the white house and on stages around the world, the Shure SM57. This thing sounds great on electric guitar, and sounds great for spoken word once you add a pop filter. It also does an excellent job at background noise rejection.

Today I review a brand new mic from Samson, the Samson G-Track Pro. This is a multi-pattern, hi-resolution version of the original G-Track. You are getting a nice sounding mic and an instrument interface for a relatively cheap price. If you’re a musician on a budget, then this is a great option to start recording music.

Today I review an iPhone microphone, the iRig Mic HD. This is an outdated version of the microphone, which has been replaced by the iRig Mic HD2. Regardless, this microphone has a more neutral tone than many handheld dynamics, in that it does not sound like it has a presence boost. This provides a more accurate recording, but it does lose a bit of clarity and the high fidelity sound. It suffers from very bad plosives and does not perform well with handling noise either. The A/D converter does offer 24-bit 48kHz recording which is great to see. This mic is compatible with iOS, Mac, and Windows as well. All around it’s a decent mic, but I would only recommend it if you need a handheld dynamic mic that is not presence boosted that runs over lightning cable to an iOS device.

Today I review a budget dynamic mic which costs about $60. It has so much in terms of low mids that it makes ribbon mics sound weak. It has an inverted polarity on the USB output and it makes the audio sound bad. The headphone amp is noisy if you're monitoring yourself. It is not a good mic and I do not recommend it.
