Land Rover Defender LED Dash Lighting Upgrade - Installation and Review
Now any driver of an early defender will know, that the dash lighting isn't quite up to scratch. The dim green lighting of the instruments causes eye strain at the best of times, so I'm upgrading my dash lighting with LED's (Light Emitting Diode) and putting those dim nights behind me.
The LED's used were five white T10 6-chip SMD style LED's with a 180 degree super wide angle.

My Defender ignition switch failed after returning from a drive causing the car to stop dead. I replaced the unit easily in about 30 minutes. The replacement requires the removal of the dash and steering column cover.

I upgraded my original rubber bushes with a complete set of SuperPro poly bushes for my Land Rover Defender. The upgraded poly bushes helped firm up the ride a lot and the steering was also more precise and firmer. There was some decrease in the noise and vibration during road use. Overall I'm quite happy with the upgrade.

Fencing Wire is a useful tool to carry in your 4x4 while travelling. It can aid in bush repairs where alternatives are scarce. Carrying fencing wire and fencing pliers are a must have for remote touring repairs.
There are three tensile types of fencing wire, soft, medium and high. High tensile has the higest breaking strain but the most difficult to bend and manipulate. With Soft tensile the easiest to bend to your requirements, but a lower breaking strain. Choose a medium for a good all rounder suitable for most repairs. Whatever you have access to, at least carry a few meters with you for emergency repairs.

I've been using the Oztent King Goanna Chair for over a year on my camping trips and think it's the best camping chair available. The added lumbar support and head rest make this the most comfortable chair I've used. This is a quick review of the features of the King Goanna.

This is my set up for providing shelter off the side of my Defender. I use both tarps and a side awning to provide shelter from rain and sun. Both are fairly quick to set up.

An overview of the Narva 95200 LED amber indicator lamp plus installation on my Land Rover Defender bullbar.
The Narva Model 52 series is made to replace many stock indicator lamps of various aftermarket bullbars such as by ARB or TJM. The LED's are super bright and fast acting.

After a long hiatus, I escape for a 3 day long weekend camping trip to Byfield NP to recharge. Since completing my travels in 2019, I've rarely been out bush. Join me as I show you some of the highlights of Byfield National Park, as well as sharing some of my bush tucker knowledge, and hunting for the elusive Ghost Crab.

How to install an engine oil pressure gauge sender on a Land Rover Defender 200TDI using a brass 1/8NPT T-piece. Installing a sender to run a oil pressure gauge is a simple 5 minute job. For my 200tdi Defender I used a 1/8th NPT sender and T-piece to match the Land Rover low oil pressure warning light switch thread. You will need to check your specific vehicle for the correct thread type and size.
