According to a new analysis, 64% of American households are now living paycheck to paycheck, even though over the last year, wages have risen by a historically high 5.1%, that is a huge year over year increase in wages here in the United States. The problem is, inflation has risen even faster than that. Typically on a given year, you're looking at inflation between one and 3%, three being like kind of the high end. Well, we're at about 8%. So when wages only go up by 5%, you still have that 3% gap. So people able to afford less, even though they're making more money. Add to that, the recent massive spike in gas prices and suddenly it becomes very clear why 64% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. But don't worry, folks. It's actually not just those at the bottom end of the income spectrum. This report also says that 48% of households who make over six figures per year are also living paycheck to paycheck.

There is a chance that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis may be arrested in the near future. The Texas sheriff that has been investigating for nearly a year now, Ron DeSantis first migrant flights, the one from San Antonio, made a couple of stops and then it went up to Martha's Vineyard. I believe that happened last August, September. Well, a local Texas sheriff has been investigating that in Bahar County because that's where it occurred. That's his jurisdiction. And yesterday, this sheriff Javier, uh, Salazar, recommended to the district attorney of Bahar County criminal charges both felony and misdemeanor for those responsible for the migrant flights. Now, according to all the reports I've read about this, and I've read as many as I can trying to find that information, I cannot find anywhere where it specifically says, Ron DeSantis is the target of these potential criminal charges. And of course that is important.
And of course that is why I said Ron DeSantis may be arrested because we don't know who these criminal charges are necessarily against. We do know that the criminal charges involve, uh, what is it? Uh, unlawful restraint and several counts Were also filed both with misdemeanor and felony implications. So unlawful restraint is a fun way to say kidnapping. Basically what happened in case you need a refresher is you had the mystery woman named Perla who went out there promised these migrants, Hey, get on this plane. We'll take you to Martha's Vineyard up there. You will have a job, you will have healthcare. Your children will have access to schools. Everything you need is there, so come get on the plane and let's get you to Martha's Vineyard.
All of that didn't happen. None of it was true. So she, from somebody's direction, which we're assuming obviously came from Ron DeSantis or his administration, she lured these people onto this plane under false pretenses and shipped them to another part of the country. And technically it wasn't even the part of the country. She said they were, they were gonna drop 'em off in cuz she didn't tell them it was gonna be Martha's Vineyard. So you took people to a place after lying that you were taking 'em to a different place under false pretense pretenses. So yeah, that's kidnapping or as Texas put it, unlawful restraint. Either way, this is now in the hands of that district attorney in Bahar County, Texas. Hopefully that DA does the right thing and moves forward with these criminal charges because as we know, Ron DeSantis is still flying migrants all around the country. Just to get him out of Florida, even though his own Republicans on Monday this week had to, had to hold a meeting with business leaders begging them, please, you know, don't let your migrants leave the state because we need their cheap labor.
So yeah, a bit of a mixed message here in the state of Florida. I'll give you that. But you also had California Governor Gavin Newsom this week dangle kidnapping charges in front of Ron DeSantis on Twitter. So Ron DeSantis may think he's scoring big political victories by spending millions of dollars of our money in the state of Florida to ship these migrants all over the country. But states are fighting back and there may not be anything that DeSantis can do to avoid criminal charges as this moves forward.

Over the years, we've covered stories that have been weird, that have been depressing, that have been just kind of confusing, I guess. Well, this story, out of all the confusing things I've had to talk about might be one of the most confusing ever, because I do not understand the rationale here. And it goes against the character that we know that Donald Trump possesses. This past Thursday was the deadline for Donald Trump to appeal the ruling from the 11th Circuit that did away with his special master. If he did not file an appeal by Thursday, then that ruling stood and there was nothing in the world he could do about it.
Thursday came and went, and Donald Trump and his legal team did not appeal the ruling getting rid of Special Master Ray. Dear, the Special Master that they fought so hard to get put in place, the Special Master that helped to slow down the ongoing investigation. Of course, he's now gone and he's now gone for good. Trump could have appealed it to the full panel of the 11th Circuit, or he could have appealed it to the Supreme Court, the 11th Circuit said, but he and his legal team made the decision to not appeal this ruling. Donald Trump appeals every ruling ever, every lawsuit he's in, every time he loses, appeal, appeal, appeal till there's no room left to appeal it. But not this one.
That confuses me tremendously. I need to know why. Again, you appeal everything, even the stupid things. This kind of seems like a big one for you. It's something you wanted. It's the whole reason you went judge shopping and now you're just giving up without a fight. That doesn't seem right, but I have a couple theories I'm gonna share 'em. First theory is the timing. If Donald Trump had appealed this ruling, it would likely have pushed this whole investigation back. I would say one to two months, depending on how it went, how quickly the judges were able to look at it. We're looking at at least one to two months that this would've prolonged this investigation where the DOJ basically had their hand tied, hands tied, waiting for a ruling from the Superior Court. So why do you not want the extra time? The very good answer for that. The longer this case gets pushed, the longer it will be until criminal indictments come down, if they come down at all, which as we're seeing from legal experts, people close to Trump, everybody at this point is
Expecting indictments. So conservative Republican debates for the 2024 presidential election are going to start in July. Okay? Does everybody realize that we're like eight months away, not even eight months, from the first rounds of Republican debates for 2024. We are in the heart of that, uh, presidential race. Now, I know the midterms, you know, just a month ago, but we're already in the presidential race. So how bad would it look for Trump if he pushes this down the road, gets to the debates, does well or doesn't do well, and then he gets indicted? He's not gonna have time to craft that narrative cuz there's gonna be challengers around him that are already going to jump on it and they're gonna use it to attack the hell out of him. If he can get indicted as soon as possible. It gives his legal team and of course, his campaign PR team, more time before other Republicans jump in to go ahead and craft the narrative.

The Senate passed a congressional review act resolution last week that will actually undo a rule enacted during the Trump administration that allowed payday lenders to skirt laws that had prevented them from charging exorbitant interest rates to borrowers. The rule was colloquially called the rent a bank rule, and it allowed payday lenders to borrow the name of a reputable bank or financial institution in order to make loans to people. Since the loans were technically coming from this new bank, the payday industry could then get around laws limiting the amount of interest they could charge, and they immediately began charging interest rates of 200% or more, in some instances. The payday lending industry has been keeping people in a cycle of debt for decades.
By charging these ridiculously high interest rates, they force borrowers to actually take out more loans just to pay off the first loan and so on and so on, creating an endless cycle of debt and borrowing. And while laws had been put in place to stop this, the Trump administration gave this industry a massive gift with their rent a bank rule that allowed them to charge whatever they wanted in interest. A companion piece of legislation still has to pass the House of Representatives, but the chances of it passing are exceptionally high, especially since several Republicans in the Senate were willing to cross party lines to support it. And once it became official that they had clenched enough seats in the midterms to have that majority, they, uh, they held a press conference yesterday, like shortly after the news, like was official and announced that, yep, we're investigating Hunter Biden folks at long last. We're finally gonna get all those answers, like what's on the laptop and who cares what's on the laptop. Yes, they're gonna be investigating Hunter Biden because they told us in their little press conference here, uh, you, they're pretty sure that President Biden was like involved in some of the sketchy bank activity. They got over, what is it, over a hundred bank activity reports, suspicious bank activity reports. And they're pretty sure that Biden, president Biden was involved with Hunter Biden's, you know, shady business dealings.
Now, here's the thing about this. If President Biden, if Joseph Biden was in fact involved in any of the business deals carried out by Hunter Biden, do you know what that means for President Biden? Yet? The answer's nothing because all of these business deals that Republicans and conservative pundits have flagged, do you know when those took place? They took place from 2017 to, to 2019. Actually started in 2017. October of 2017. Ran for about 18 months during that time when all of these supposed illicit business deals were taking place. Do you know what Joe Biden was? He was a private citizen. He wasn't the vice president anymore. He wasn't a candidate yet, and he sure as hell wasn't president of the United States. So this was just a well connected American citizen helping his son make connections if, if that even happened, right? If it even happened. And as we all know, there is nothing illegal about that. You may think it's immoral. Fine. Is it unethical? That's up for debate, I guess. Is it illegal? 100% not. So even if Republicans found what they think they could find, it's still not even illegal because Biden was a private citizen helping his private citizens son make connections to get business deals. It happens every day in corporate America.
Furthermore, we're gonna hear about the laptop, right? Oh, that Hunter Biden laptop. We're finally gonna break it wide open. You've already done that. Tucker Carlson claimed that
He had the contents, mailed it to himself, and then it somehow got lost in the mail. Oh, darn it. Matt Gates. Matt Gates, just a few months ago, pulled out a, a hard drive and said, these were the contents of Hunter Biden's laptop. I'm putting them into the record. If there was criminal activity there, they would've already shown it. Multiple Fox News hosts, as I said, have said, we have the contents. Rudy Giuliani said, I have the contents. Cool. Show us the criminal activity. You've had it for years now, and you're just saving it for something that that makes zero sense. If you legitimately had it and there was legitimately criminal activity on it, you would've shown it. Like you wouldn't have wasted a single second to use that to smear Biden and the Democrats. So I don't believe for a second there's anything on that laptop that's going to, you know, harm President Biden.
And then of course the timing of it. If Republicans think, and I'm just thinking of this, like if I were a Republican strategist, I would be telling the Republican party right now, like, S pump the brakes.

Rick Scott, Republican Senator from the state of Florida desperately wants to be in the Republican leadership position in the Senate when the new Congress has sworn in in January. And so far he is off to a bad start. Um, he's still feuding with Mitch McConnell, but Mitch McConnell has basically already secured his leadership position, but Scott's not done fighting. And as the head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, the fundraising arm of the Senate Republicans, he is out there this week raising money for Herschel Walker. He sent out an email on, uh, November 21st Monday begging, begging supporters, we need a emergency donation to help elect Herschel Walker so Democrats don't get that 51 seats and only have 50. There's a problem. Analysts looked at the fine print of his email sent out by the N rsc, but signed by Herschel Walker, and it was revealed that Rick Scott's group is actually going to pocket 98% of the money. So they said, we need your emergency donations to save Herschel Walker's butt, but Rick Scott's group's gonna keep 98% of that. The remaining 2% of course then gets split between Rick Scott and Herschel Walker.
So Rick Scott, himself personally, is gonna keep 1% of that. Herschel Walker gets 1% as well. So for every $10 raised from this email, Herschel Walker's campaign gets a dime, a dime for every $10 that Rick Scott raised for him with his begging for emergency donations. Not exactly, um, the kind of thing you should do if you wanna show Republicans that, Hey, I'm, I'm out there fighting for you. No, you're not. You're fighting to literally put more money in your pockets. And the fact that anyone in this country trusts you, Rick Scott, with handling money, that is just mind blowing to me. You already lost more than a hundred million of the N RSCs money this year. You still haven't accounted for it. You've got your other Senate Republicans calling for an audit of your group because they want to know where the hell the money went. Now you're out there scamming voters again, pocketing the money yourself. That's supposed to be going to Herschel Walker. How has this man repeatedly managed to fail upwards in life? That's what I don't understand. Why are any Republicans in the Senate putting up with this crap? He is stealing your money. Not necessarily in the way of like taking it out and keeping it for himself, but he is not spending
