Amendola’s signature line will be moving to La Zona, best known as the home of Espinosa Premium Cigars, and as a result there will be some changes to the cigars in that collection.
The Padrino will shift from being a 6 x 54 vitola in what is described as a wedge vitola, meaning it has a flattened head, to a more traditional belicoso. The blend will also change, as the Indonesian Sumatra wrapper will be replaced by a broadleaf wrapper, though that change has not been finalized yet, as Amendola said he is still shopping for the tobacco that will eventually be used in the final blend.
The company has just released the first of its cigars to be produced at La Zona, a line called Cannoli that includes three blends. The first to be released is the Amendola Signature Series San Andres Cannoli, which uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper atop a Nicaraguan binder and filler and is offered in a 5 1/2 x 42 box pressed corona vitola. It will then be followed up by a Connecticut shade version and a version that uses a habano wrapper as of yet undisclosed origin, both of which will be released in a round 5 1/2 x 42 corona vitola. Those two cigars are expected to be released in September.
Amendola said that the company has exhausted its supply of cigars made at Tabacalera Kafie, meaning that what is left is on retail shelves. He acknowledged that there might be periods of time in the coming months where product is unavailable until production fully ramps up and is able to get to stores, which is expected by September. The boxes will be stamped with the factory that produced the cigars inside, should a consumer wish to know where the cigars inside were made.
As for pricing, Amendola said it plans to keep its portfolio priced between $7.99 and $11.99. Amendola Family Cigar Co. will continue to be distributed by Cajun Cigar Czar, which is located in Miami.

Macanudo Inspirado employs the time-honored tradition of tercio aging in its soon-to-be-released, limited edition expression called Macanudo nspirado Tercio Aged. The blend speaks to refinement and complexity, derived from the old-world technique of tercio aging. For this special release, the laborious and time-consuming process of tercio aging envelopes the cigar’s Dominican Piloto Cubano leaves in handmade bales made of royal palm bark that age the tobacco in a unique environment for six months. The tercios round out the tobacco in a way that is not attainable through other methods, delivering deep nuances and heightened aroma.

Casa Fuente Double Robusto Cigar Review | #LeeMack912 (S08 E11)
Arturo Fuente is sending stores around the country a limited supply of Casa Fuente, the cigar made for the Las Vegas store by the same name.
There will be 10 different cigars sold, seven from the core Casa Fuente line and three from the Series 5 line. Each will be sold in boxes of 25 with the exception of the Casa Fuente Double Robusto, which comes in boxes of 42.
While Arturo Fuente has never formally disclosed the exact blend of Casa Fuente, it’s regularly described as a Cameroon wrapper over a blend of Dominican tobaccos, likely similar to Opus X. There are seven cigars from the original line that will head to stores:
Casa Fuente Belicoso Fino (5 5/8 x 52)
Casa Fuente Churchill (7 1/4 x 48)
Casa Fuente Corona Gorda (5 5/8 x 46)
Casa Fuente Double Corona (7 5/8 x 49)
Casa Fuente Double Robusto (5 3/4 x 52)
Casa Fuente Pyramids (6 x 52)
Casa Fuente Robusto (5 1/4 x 50)
Casa Fuente is a retail store located at the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The store opened in 2005 as a partnership between Michael and Robert Frey of FreBoy Tobacco/CigarBox and Robert Levin of Holt’s/Ashton. Arturo Fuente licenses its name to the store, which only sells cigars from Fuente and its partners like Ashton, J.C. Newman and Prometheus.
With one official exception, the Casa Fuente cigars are only available at the store and customers are limited about how many they can buy. That one exception is an annual event held at Holt’s in Philadelphia called Fuentemania, where Casa Fuente has been offered. Liana Fuente, vp of brand development for Fuente, told halfwheel that the company actually asked Holt’s for permission to sell the Casa Fuente cigars nationwide and Holt’s agreed.
Fuente told halfwheel that stores will receive one shipment which will be similar to what the stores receive for their Fuente Fuente OpusX allocations, though perhaps a bit larger. She declined to talk specifics about pricing, though when the cigars have been sold at Fuentemania the prices have been lower due to Nevada’s higher tax rate. Stores in lower tax states—so long as they don’t mark up the cigars beyond normal margins—will end up pricing the cigars for less than what they are sold for in Las Vegas.

All Out Kings is a collaboration between Drew Estate & Caldwell cigars. It features a mix of Connecticut, Indonesian and Nicaraguan tobaccos. LeeMack912 tells you if it is a hit or a miss.

"The collaborative project was announced earlier this year at Cigar Federation’s Cigar Safari where Robert Caldwell, Founder of Caldwell Cigar Co., Jonathan Drew, Founder of Drew Estate, and Willy Herrera, Master Blender of Drew Estate, led the tours blending session where attendees collaborated together with Caldwell, Drew and Herrera to create blends and lay out the rules they couldn’t break.
Jonathan Drew from his Wynwood, Miami Safe House stated, “Collaboration with Caldwell and Willy was super fresh. It was great to watch the magic come together from each of the crews . There is a lot of creativity birthed into ALL OUT KINGS, which will resonate from the cigar taste profile to the imagery that smashes the expected. This is an extended family collaborative that knows how to get down.”
All out Kings will be distributed in the United States by Caldwell Cigar Co. When asked about the project, Robert Caldwell, from Lago di Lugano, Switzerland stated, “Caldwell Cigar company has been an adventure for me from the day we began. We set out day one to do things differently. We had a lot of challenges and success in launching our brands in 2014. One of the ambitions of the company was to collaborate with other brands. Our biggest success is about to debut. People have been asking me for years when I was planning to release a Nicaraguan cigar. When John started kicking around ideas with me, I knew it was our time to let the ball roll in Nicaragua. It is a great compliment to our company to be able to work together with Drew and Willie and the Swag Cave Crew on this special project.”
All out Kings debuts with Tobaccos from La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Esteli, Nicaragua including Connecticut Stalk Cut and Sun Cured Habano Wrapper, with Indonesia Sumatra Binder, and filler comprised of Jalapa Viso, Esteli Viso, Dominican C-98 Seco, and Connecticut Broadleaf Ligero. When asked about the blend, Willy Herrera, from Miami, Florida noted “Working with Caldwell was challenging because he is very specific on what he likes and does not like with a maduro blend. Creating a cigar that he could enjoy while still staying true and giving it my signature spice was a delicate balance that I looked for in our numerous blending sessions at Joya and Drew.”
All out Kings will be released in four sizes: Smash (5 x 52), Gimme your Lunch Money (5 ¾ x 46), Foreverlast (6 ½ x 54), and The Fourth Pose (6 x 54). The project is packaged in 20 count boxes."
