It went over the 10 minute limit, so i had to split this scene into two vids. This is Part 2. This is Vid Number 21 of an entire Normal Difficulty playthrough of the original Killzone on the PS2. I don't normally do playthroughs, and this isn't the most skillful playing, but I know there is a lot of interest in this game now that Killzone 2 is out, so I though I'd do a full playthrough showing all the levels and the story cut scenes, so let me give you a SPOILER WARNING for those who haven't played the game yet. To be honest, I think this game was unfairly panned by the gaming media. I really enjoyed it, but I will admit to it's flaws. First of all, it's glitchy. It's filled with graphical glitches (which you're likely to see in these vids), and occasionally the game will even glitch out and stop progression.The biggest complaint is with the controls. The default analog control setting it terrible. Luckily, the game's controls are 100% customizable, so you can fix, or mostly fix the aiming. I've never gotten it to feel perfect to my tastes, but I've gotten it close enough to where I can adjust to the aiming. Also, the Hellghast voices are extremely annoying at first, but you get used to them, and may even start to like them after a while. To be honest, I'd have to disagree with the belief that the developer just tried to push more than the PS2 to handle in this game. I've seen games with nearly as good, or, arguably, better graphics run a lot smoother on the system. In reality it's likely that the game was rushed in order to beat Halo 2 to the market. It feels like it released too early, and it just lacks that final layer of polish. I hear they are bringing an HD version of this game to the PS3 with Killzone 3. Not a perfect run, but I literally spent 5-7 hours playing just this level today, so I thought I would share what I've learned. I even had to restart this level when I was near the end just to get more save crystals just to continue. This is my first time, ever, playing through TR III, and so far, I'm definitely not enjoying it as much as the first two, or the fourth one. I already have hours of footage on this game, as I am thinking of doing a full review on it....that is, if I can ever get back to writing again. That's why I've been putting up a lot of samples lately, because I haven't been able to focus on deeper content as of late. NOTE: After going back and playing this level again, the game stopped letting me progress, and it keep looping me back to the British levels. I beat the boss lady, and it puts me right back at Thames Warf. No Bueno. So, I am going to have to start a brand new save, and use the level skip cheat, even though I said I was going to beat this game without cheats. This is a series of gameplay vids I'm doing highlighting overlooked games for the PS2. Evergrace plays like a third person King's Field game (with some differences of course), and like the Kings Field series, you'll either be really into it, or you'll be bored to tears. This is another game that was wrongfully raped by the gaming media. Yes, it's not the greatest RPG of all time, but it has it's own style, and is worth playing to those who take it as it is. My biggest complaint about people who give games like this such bad scores is that fact that the game itself is in no way bad. It's perfectly playable, and rewarding in it's own way. My problem is that these "professional" jackasses who review games try and fit every game into a box, and if it doesn't fit they crucify the game for not being more of the same. How ****ing dare a game go against the grain of convention. People who think like that are the reason why we've been having cliche Gears of War rip-off third person shooters shoved down our ****ing throats this entire genre, because if they don't understand a game, they crucify it. Just because a game isn't what you expect it to be doesn't mean it's terrible. These douches just jump on a bandwagon, and think every game in each genre should be only one way or else it sucks. This game isn't and RPG like say Final Fantasy, but it's not trying to be Final Fantasy. Just because it's an RPG, doesn't mean it's comparable to every other game in the RPG genre, because it's not even trying to do anything remotely similar. Don't these people have any concept of context? Sorry if this seems like more of a rant about reviewers, but, looking at the official reviews of this game, they're atrocious. It never had a chance. I'm just sick and tired of seeing perfectly good games being trashed over stupid issues, while the hugely over-hyped crap that does nothing new, and plays just like every other mainstream game out there gets praised to high hell. It's BS, and I'm tired of seeing it, because I could list probably over 100 games (in the very least) that got the shaft from the gaming media despite being good games. Evergrace is perfectly playable, and engrossing, for those who can get into it. It's not for everyone, but some gamers out there will really dig this game. Action gamers be warned, this game will probably bore you to tears. There are better hack and slash RPGs out there, but variety is the spice of life. Just because there are better games out there doesn't mean that it's not worth playing this or any other game. Every game has something to offer, and they should be taken for what they have to offer, and not by what they don't.
