Here's a nifty thing I learned from Dave Z at a Concord Model Engineers fun fly. Trim your plane, and then give it a couple of notches of rudder. Your plane will circle hands-off very sweetly.

Got the PIDs to a flyable state, hooray! I think there's a bit more tuning, but I'm pleased with the progress so far.

Plugged receiver + and - into the usual places, and got no power. Moved + to one of the other connectors, got power. In either case, can't read signal values in test mode.
questions:
1. how can I analyze/diagnose the APM2 connection/reading of the radio pins?
2. any suggestions?

UPDATE: Spektrum confirmed this was a bad unit and replaced it quickly and with no hassle. The support guy I chatted with really knew his stuff, top marks to Spektrum for their support! The replacement unit bound properly using this same procedure. (END UPDATE)
As far as I can tell I'm following the proper bind procedure, but I'm not getting the blinking light that indicates bind mode.
Am I doing something wrong? Any help appreciated!
