Cyclists from round the world hitched up their saddlebags and took part in this year’s World Naked Bike Ride in Melbourne on Sunday. Decked out in nothing but helmets and the occasional pair of sunglasses, the nude cyclists wheeled through the streets, taking extra care to avoid potholes.
The event, taking place annually since 2001, is intended to promote road safety and body positivity, and will no doubt be sponsored by various brands of anti-chafing cream at some point.
Opposition supporters continue to demand the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, taking to the streets of the country’s capital. The rallies are connected to disagreements with the authorities’ policy on the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, and have been taking place in Armenia since April 25.

Anti-Israel protesters found themselves caught up in a counterprotest at the University of California, Los Angeles when pro-Israeli demonstrators turned up to remove them from campus. The counter-protest was itself met with a fierce counter-counter-protest, eventually descending into an all-out brawl involving firework artillery and possibly bear mace. Videos from the scene show the protest well and truly lost to chaos, with at least one firework being launched at people from the Israeli side and a cloud of gas looming over the Palestinian side. At least one person has been treated by paramedics, according to local media. The protests remain ongoing into the early hours of Wednesday morning as police prepare a response to bring the situation under control, as confirmed by Mayor Karen Bass.
The scenes at UCLA mirror those on the East Coast, where a nearly two-week protest has seen New York’s Columbia University brought to a standstill, which resulted in heavy police action.
