Holiness is More Important Than You Think
Holiness is More Important Than You Think
Holiness is way more important than you think. You need to make sure that you are ready for Jesus Christ because only the pure in heart will see God. Only the pure in heart will inherit the Kingdom of God. How do you become holy? You become holy when you receive the Holy Spirit, there is no other way. So many people, Christians included are trying to achieve eternal life by doing a lot of good things. Even though they preach “grace”, “once saved always saved”, and that they have “eternal security”, they try to secure their future by good deeds, they try to appease their conscience by doing good things for God. And their conscience is guilty. Maybe you have pushed down your conscience so much, putting things on the back burner for so long that you have even forgotten why you feel guilty of things. But then you go and you try to appease God by doing things that are good in the eyes of men. Giving money to help out people, which is a good thing, serving people in your community, which is a good thing, being generous, which is a good thing, being thoughtful, which is a good thing. But all of those things that ARE GOOD to do to other people WILL NOT HELP YOU ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD IF YOU ARE NOT HOLY. You have to receive the Holy Spirit to be holy, you have to be purged of your old life. (1 Corinthians 5:7) No one is going to see God or enter His Kingdom without holiness. (Hebrews 12:14) Only the pure in hear are going to see God. (Matt. 5:8) So many of us have greatly underestimated what it means to be walking in purity and in righteousness and in holiness. We have just assumed that if we think of things that we can do that are good for God then we will appease God and He will let us into heaven. But that’s not how it works. You have to pray and receive the Holy Spirit. (Romans 8:14) Let Him guide you every single day. Remember that Jesus said we have to daily take up our cross and follow Him, we have to deny our own lives, (Matt. 16:24) that means even denying your own personality, your own thoughts, your own opinions, you have to lay it all down to be a child of God. Are we really seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness every single day in these days that we are living in? Or are we putting our own thoughts first, our own agendas first, our own ministries first? Do we really have the Holy Spirit in us? Are we hearing from Jesus Christ? Jesus said that His sheep, they hear His voice and they will not listen to strangers but they will run from strangers. (John 10:1-18) Do you really hear His voice? Because if you don’t, you really need to start praying. Say, “Lord Jesus give me your Holy Spirit, please fill me with your presence, give me ears to hear and eyes to see, please guide me, purify me, put a new heart in me, take away the old, the dead heart, and let me have a heart that beats that is alive…” Without righteousness, without holiness you are not going to enter heaven, no matter what you do. It is wonderful that people do good things. But no one will enter heaven unless they truly REPENT and put on holiness and righteousness. Have you received the Holy Spirit and do you KNOW that the Holy Spirit is in you beyond any shadow of any doubt? Are you truly guided by the Holy Spirit EVERY SINGLE DAY? Or is it YOUR thoughts, YOUR opinions, YOUR personality that guides you and leads you? Answer that question with a sincere and honest heart. May the grace of Jesus be with you.
