Hello, welcome to another episode of the channel, and today we shall be talking about the Elon Musk 700mph Hyperloop project. Hyperloop is a conceptualized mode of passenger and freight transportation. It is a high-speed freight commuter transportation system that could reach or attain the sped of 750mph or 1, 210 kph. Musk initially designed it to commute people from downtown Los Angeles to San Francisco in 30 minutes covering a distance of about 380 miles or 610 km. Hyperloop could commute people or object at an airline or hypersonic speeds while at the same time being energy efficient when compared to the existing high-speed rail we have in the world. If this is implemented, it would reduce drastically travel time when compared to a train system and airplane system. The first time Elon Musk publicly admitted about the Hyperloop project was in July 2012 at a Pando Daily event in Santa Monica California. He called it the fifth mode of transportation. He conceptualized the idea of a reduced pressure tube which allowed pressurized capsules to ride on air bearings driven by linear induction motors and axial compression. This was contained in a whitepaper posted to Tesla and SpaceX, it was estimated that this project would cost US$6 billion. If this technology is feasible at the cost of US$6 billion, it will make the Hyperloop transport system the cheapest of all the transport systems.
