Make your way through at least one side and you’ll enter the room where the gym leader awaits. Norman uses Normal type Pokémon. The first Slaking will use Yawn to make your Pokémon sleep the next turn. Vigoroth will use Slash for more critical hits. The 2nd Slaking will use Slack Off when running out of HP then Focus Punch for big damage. After winning, you’ll receive the Balance Badge and a TM42 (Facade). You’ll see the goal just as you enter the opening hall but ascend through an opening above and you’ll see cannons. Use the door above and press the switch to open the way but watch for falling rocks. After a sleeping foe, go through the next door and make your way down while avoiding the spikes. You’ll find the first chest as you fall left and hit the bomb block to reach the next door. Break some star blocks and hit a switch to remove the spikes. Grab the 2nd chest and hit the bomb block so you can enter the next door. Watch for boulders coming off the slopes and ascend by some enemies. After a boulder opens the way, go through the next door. Press the switch to reveal the big chest and Spinni will burst in. Pressing the switches causes rocks to fall. You’ll end up back at the main hall with Spinni still in pursuit. Descend quickly and make your way to the goal. The next 3 treasures are the Ice Ability Scroll, some Party Notes, and a Ghost Medal Piece.

The track leads off with a speed flash zone that will gives racers a speed boost, but since there are turns to be made, going the desired direction while boosting won’t be easy. After getting out of the boost zone, you’ll enter a healing zone before seeing a lot of mines. After a dark gray zone covers the left corner, magnetic rods and electric pads will cover the center. Use the speed booster and jump bar to get across, where magnetic barriers will be in sight. Go past some magnetic rods and you’ll enter another healing zone. Complete 5 laps to finish.

The gym of Opelucid City contains a thin maze with trainers and giant statues. Jump off a ledge and hit a button hard to adjust the arms of the statues. Once you do, assure that the last statue adjusts one arm for you to reach the gym leader. Iris uses Dragon type Pokémon. Fraxure will use Dragon Dance to speed up and Assurance to cause more damage if a target took damage the same turn. Druddigon will use Night Slash for critical hits and Chip Away to ignore the target’s stat changes. Haxorus will use Dragon Dance and Slash for even more powerful critical hits. After winning, you’ll receive the Legend Badge and a TM82 (Dragon Tail). The user moves last when using this move but when it hits, the target is switched out in exchange for another Pokémon. Otherwise, if this move strikes a Pokémon in a wild battle, the battle ends.

After crossing the block area, ride more platforms over the water. Where snakes lurk from the pipes, go down one of them for more coins. Return to the surface and you’ll find the goal.

Shauntal uses Ghost type Pokémon. Cofagrigus will use Will-O-Wisp to burn targets and those who make contact with it will receive its Mummy ability. Drifblim will use Acrobatics since it has no held item. Golurk will use Heavy Slam to do more damage the heavier it is than the foe and Shadow Punch for never miss strikes. Making contact with Chandelure may burn its attacker due to the Flame Body ability. A move like Shadow Ball would be a good choice for this battle.
