Many of you have seen us post footage and clips from our wildlife trail cams around the property. As the snow melts, we’ve seen an awakening of the wildlife in the area! Take a look!

Some of you have asked about our third group of bears, that we don’t post many videos of. The reason for that is that we need to stand outside the enclosure in order to film them, and zooming in doesn’t always make for a great video.
But because you’ve asked, this week I spent some time and tried to get some decent video of our third group of bears.
That would be Kimmie who isn’t in this particular video - she is a black and brown bear mix. Randy is another Syrian bear - like Leo, and Rosie is a Kodiak bear like Jimbo was. Jim and Susan can still go in the enclosure with these bears, but they don’t have the same relationship with them as they do with the other groups of bears. They don’t feel these can be trusted as much, and so they mainly leave them alone, unless they need to go in for something.
I hope you enjoy this, even if it is a bit “zoomed”! At least it gives you a feel for their size and playful natures....and of course how absolutely beautiful they are.

A lot of you have been asking after Squeaky...well she is still getting medication as her infection had not completely gone away but she is about 90% recovered now. A few more weeks of confinement inside, medication, and good food and she should be good to go again. She really wants to get back outside, but yet she also seems to really love and appreciate her warm bed inside.

I know many of you have asked for an update on Rosie. She is doing ok, but the foot was t getting better as much as we had hoped, so Dr. Joe took another look, flushed it out again, cleaned it up, took more cultures and changed her meds. She is also not the best patient about taking her medicine and she is getting wise to all of Susan’s attempts to camouflage them. With the new meds she only needs half as much - so Susan can continue to be crafty...but half the time now. Ever try to MAKE a bear take medicine that tastes terrible and it doesn’t want? Yeah.....challenging. ;)
