How To Increase Your Speed | Speed Training For Basketball
In this video I talk about my 3 stages that are going to help you increase your speed. I reference basketball a few times in this video, but the tips I give are not limited to basketball performance. In most sports we are sprinting constantly so it is very important that we train for speed, especially if this is a weakness. Speed training is going to be complimentary to things like footwork, vertical jump, quickness, and more. Having a faster sprint time kind of brings it all together and creates the total package!
Three Stages I Discuss: Sprint Mechanics Sprint Strength Training Speed Plyometrics
Although their is a lot of different things to talk about with speed training, these are the things I touch on. I give a couple examples of getting better sprint mechanics, I give a couple of my favorite exercises for speed, and some of the best plyometric exercises for speed.
For this weeks topic I am going to tell you guys how to add inches to your vertical jump instantly. The only way to increase vertical jump instantly in my opinion is to improve your jump mechanics.
In this video I show you guys the correct way to jump to be able to reach your highest potential at your current level of athleticism. I give the example of the 2 foot approach jump, and break it all down in detail so you can have the best understanding of how to jump this way the most effectively. This is a great way to add inches to your vertical jump fast, and if done correctly it can be achieved instantly!

Today we will be discussing athletic training in the off season, and I will be talking about how many sessions a week we need to be doing in order to get maximum benefits. This include all of the aspects of training (skills, speed, plyometrics, strength, and conditioning).
In the off season is when we want to really focus on our training sessions, because this is the time to get better, and stronger. At least when we are talking about strength and conditioning, this is where we want to improve. So training the correct amount of days throughout the week, while allowing your body to have enough rest at the same time is going to be very important.
Here are the number of training sessions to aim for on a weekly basis:
- Skills Training (4-6 x / wk)
- SAQ (1-2 x / wk)
- Plyometric Training (1-2 x / wk)
- Strength Training (3-6 x / wk)
- Conditioning (3-4 x / wk)

How To Get Rid Of Plantar Fasciitis (3 Foot Pain Treatments)
I had bottom foot pain for a solid year before I started to really focus getting rid of my Plantar Fasciitis. I break it down into 3 things to focus on every day, about 5-10 minutes each. (Massaging) The way I like to massage the Plantar Fascia is to use a foot roller. You can also use a baseball or lacrosse ball for Plantar Fasciitis. (Stretching) To stretch for Plantar Fasciitisc I give stretches that are known to be calf stretches but will reach the Plantar Fascia. (Strengthening) I give you one exercise for Plantar Fasciitis, and it involves a band.

For this video I show you guys some of my favorite drills for change of direction, acceleration and deceleration for basketball. When we are talking basketball, the length of the court doesn't really allow us to get into our top speed. So the extra emphasis on change of direction and acceleration is going to be much more ideal when we are talking speed and agility. They all kind of correspond with each other, being able to effectively decelerate is going to help us to change direction faster and more efficient to lead into our acceleration.

In this video I show you 9 different hand eye coordination drills, that is going to help your basketball dribbling/ball control, reaction time (tip passes on defense), and shooting accuracy. Doing these drills 1 or 2 times a week, you should see big improvement in no time! The only thing you will need is 1 tennis ball.
