The incident was initiated at 12:40 a.m. on February 13, 2024 when Modesto Police Officer Clayton Keener conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Paradise Road and Martin Luther King Drive. The driver an adult female and the passenger later identified as 41-year-old Mark Coke Junior were contacted by the officer. The driver provided her license while the passenger Coke identified himself verbally. The identity provided by the passenger was determined not to be his and came back to someone who was on searchable probation. Backup Officer Raphael Campos arrived and was directed to keep an eye on the occupants of the car shortly after officer Keener asked the driver to step out of her car he attempted to confirm Coke through identity from the driver. Officers instructed Coke to step out of the car but before doing so he appeared to be reaching for something and would not raise his left hand as officer Campos reached over to control Coke's arm, Coke produced a gun and pointed it towards the officer, Both officers discharged their firearms as they retreated from the car just prior to officer Keener transitioning over to his handgun he deployed his taser. Officers waited for additional help and a ballistic shield before approaching once the loaded 9mm Ruger was recovered. Coke received Medical Aid from the officers until paramedics arrived. Coke was then transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. Upon being medically cleared, Mark Coke Jr. will be charged with attempted murder of a police officer, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and an outstanding domestic violence warrant. The Evansville Police Department has released body Cam of an officer involved shooting after Officers respond to the 2600 block of Pollack Avenue Saturday. Jan 18 at around 1:34 a.m. after a 911 call of a man later identified as Melvin Solomon, 51 who told the dispatcher that he shot someone. When Officers arrived on scene they were confronted with Solomon holding a knife in both hands. The officer told Solomon to drop the knife, Solomon responded "shoot me" then he turned around to go back in the house, this is when the officer involved shooting occurred. On Thursday, February 8, 2024, around 8:30 p.m., Blount County Sheriff’s Deputy Shelby Eggers, aged 22, initiated a traffic stop on the driver of an SUV in the 4900 block of Sevierville Road in Maryville, Tennessee, citing "suspicion of erratic driving," as stated by law enforcement officials. The driver, later identified as Kenneth Dehart, aged 42, was subjected to the stop. Deputy Eggers, currently serving as a patrol deputy, commenced her career at the Sheriff’s Office in 2019 as a Corrections deputy. She subsequently applied for and successfully completed the Sheriff’s Office Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy, graduating in 2022. Deputy McCowan, aged 43, embarked on his full-time career with the BCSO in 2020 amid the COVID pandemic. Prior to assuming full-time duties, Deputy McCowan served as a reserve deputy. He transitioned from a manufacturing background to pursue his passion for law enforcement, joining as a patrol deputy and graduating from the BCSO Regional Law Enforcement Academy Class 021 in 2020. Recognized for his outstanding performance during the academy, Deputy McCowan was deployed as a patrol deputy on the evening shift. He earned the Sheriff’s Office Lifesaving commendation in April 2021 for his role in rescuing a man trapped in a burning vehicle. Additionally, he was an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) and recently gained acceptance into the Sheriff’s Crisis Negotiations team, displaying eagerness to utilize his newly acquired certification. Described as affable and approachable, Deputy McCowan enjoyed motorcycle riding and vehicle restoration. He is survived by his children Cayley and Cayden, granddaughter Ella, parents, fiancée Leah, and a wide circle of family and friends. During the encounter with the suspect, the situation turned grave as the suspect retrieved a firearm from within his vehicle and opened fire on both deputies. Tragically, Deputy McCowan sustained fatal wounds in the attack. Subsequently, DeHart removed the Taser prongs embedded in him, exited the vehicle, and fired another shot at McCowan as he lay motionless on the ground. Despite sustaining a leg injury, Deputy Eggers managed to return fire, but the assailant fled the scene. Eggers was promptly transported to the hospital with severe but non-life-threatening injuries and has since been discharged to recover at home. The suspect, identified as a violent repeat offender, faced a litany of charges, totaling 26 counts spanning over two decades. After evading authorities for five days, the perpetrator responsible for Deputy McCowan's death was finally apprehended on February 13. During the search, the suspect's brother, Marcus DeHart, aged 41, along with his girlfriend, Carrie Matthews, aged 32, and another individual, Maurice Donnell Warren, aged 46, were charged with being accessories after the fact, according to an affidavit. DeHart himself faced charges including first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and unlawful possession of a firearm. The Tucson police Department Chief Chris Magnus released body cam, surveillance footage, radio communication of an officer involved in a fatal shooting that occurred at the parking lot of a Lowe’s Home Improvement store Monday evening Nov. 29.. A Tucson police officer has been fired after he shot 9 times and killed a man, later identified as 61-year-old Richard Lee Richards in a motorized wheelchair who was armed with a knife chief said in a press conference today. Previously Richards was caught trying to steal a tool box from Walmart by Tucson police Officer Ryan Remington, a four-year veteran of the TPD, who was working off-duty security at the store followed Richards and asked for a receipt. Richards responded, “here’s your receipt,” pulled out a knife and kept moving. The employee told investigators that Richards said, “if you want me to put down the knife, you’re going to have to shoot me.” Remington followed after Richards across the Walmart parking lot and then into the nearby Lowe’s parking lot. At that point, Remington was joined by another officer, officer, Stephanie Taylor and both followed Richards toward the Lowe’s. Remington then told Richards to not enter the store but Richards ignored him. Remington shot Richards nine times, causing him to fall out of his scooter. Richards died at the scene.
