Al Baqarah (2) 120: Say, “Indeed, the guidance of Allah is the [only] guidance.” If you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, you would have against Allah no protector or helper.
Indeed the ailments of the heart have prevented Muslims from being moved and guided by the Quran. Being moved by the Quran is not simply weeping upon hearing its warnings and glad tidings while staying in the same state of negligence and disobedience. Rather genuinely being moved by the Quran leads to being guided by it and acting on its ordainments. So by reciting its verses he adheres to its commands and avoids it prohibitions even if this opposes the desires of his soul.

Virtue of The 10 Days of Dhul Hijjah & Shahādah
Among the special seasons of worship are the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah , which Allāh has preferred over all the other days of the year.
Ibn 'Abbās reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allāh than these ten days.” The people asked, ‘Not even Jihād for the sake of Allāh?’
He ﷺ said, “Not even Jihād for the sake of Allāh, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing.” Sahih Bukhārī (no. 969).
Benefits from the narration:
Virtue of the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah:
- The great virtue of the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah.
- The first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are loved by Allāh.
Virtue of performing righteous deeds:
- It is proven that fasting, reciting Qur’ān, giving charity and general righteous deeds are more rewarding in these days then doing them in the daytime of any other month.
- Righteous deeds in these days are even better then Jihād except for one that strives with the wealth and self and is taken as Shahīd (Martyr) by Allāh.
- As for the narration that the Prophet ﷺ fasted the days of Dhul Hijjah, nothing authentic has been established from him. The scholars mention it is still recommended to fast due the great reward and virtue of these days.
Virtue of Jihād:
- Jihād was asked by the companions because they knew Jihād has a great status in Islām and the great virtue it carries as mentioned in the narration of Abū Dhār when he narrated, I asked the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ ‘Which action is the most virtuous?’ He replied, “Faith in Allāh and Jihād in His Cause.” Sahih Bukhārī (no. 2518).
- Jihād was known to carry a great virtue. The companions knew Jihād as one of the greatest deeds in Islām so they asked “Not even jihad for the sake of Allāh?” which shows the understanding of the companions was Jihād was of the most virtues deeds.
Virtue of Shahādah in the way of Allāh:
- The virtue of Shahādah – being killed in the path of Allāh – is clear from the narration , “except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing.” – this indicates that striving in the way of Allāh with wealth and ones life and being accepted as a Shahīd by Allāh is more rewarding then righteous deeds done in these days.
- The Shahīd has many blessings, from them is all his sins are forgiven and is only accountable for debt. Abdullāh ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said, “The martyr is forgiven for every sin except debt.” Sahih Muslim (no. 1886).
- This meaning of the virtue of Shahādah is usually not mentioned by speakers today but those that striving in the path of Allāh today with their wealth and life and are killed in the way of Allāh is more rewarding then all the righteous deeds done in the days of Dhul Hijjah.
- Shahādah was something many of the companions desired and was not something strange in their minds as it is in the minds of the Muslims today.
For example Umar ibn Khattāb would supplicate: O Allāh! Grant me martyrdom in Your cause, and let my death be in the city of Your Messenger." Sahih Bukhārī (no. 1890).
Conclude:
- The Prophet ﷺ measured the virtues of Dhul Hijjah against Jihād because they knew it to be the greatest deed. Nothing surpasses to Dhul Hijjah in virtue except Shahādah in the way of Allāh.

00:00 May Allah bless you .
00:02 He says,"I abandoned prayers for eighteen days."
00:06 "Then I felt regret"
#islam #reminder #salaf
00:07 "& I wanted to return to ALLAH the Most High"
00:09 "So, What should I do, Shaykh"
00:10 "Do I feel sufficed with repentance?"
00:12 "Or is it fardh upon me to make up my missed salah?"
00:15 "Because I know thier number"
00:19 Prophet says,
00:20 "Whoever abandons prayer has nullified their deeds."
00:25 "When you left it intentionally, decide not to pray"
00:29 "It invalidates all your past deeds"
00:33 & the wind carried it away forcefully
00:35 Now, you cannot retract & redo it.
00:38 The situation stands as it is.
00:42 If you were to die during this period,
you would have died as a Kafir.
00:45 My advice for you is, & you have regretted & repented
to ALLAH , The Most High.
00:50 I urge you to take care of your Salah.
00:52 to be sincere in performing the salah in the Mashjid.
00:57 So that the reward may be multiplied.
00:58 because the person's salah in the masjid with jama'h
01:02 Excels in reward compared to praying individuals by 27 times.
