We started out this day of our vacation wanting to go see a different museum. Unknown to me as it was not stated on their website they were closed until September so we searched for something else to do and we found that there was a really nice naval museum not too far from where we were at. So the morning was spent visiting the naval museum. This year we took our tax return and decided to do something different with it. We have a need to get our credit scores up so we can refinance my husbands truck in a year and we wish to purchase a house. For these reasons we decided to use our tax return to boost our credit score. We got 2 secured credit cards and a secured bank loan. Than we took the bank loan along with other cash and paid off my car. This got rid of the monthly payment for my car which was $400 a month and now we have a $187 a month payment for the bank loan. The car was purchased at a buy here pay here so it was not helping our credit at all. So essentially we took our tax return and used it to invest in our future plans.
