Youtube demonitized adsense, music copyright theft, creator area changes
Here's a trending subject discussed by some big youtubers, Casey Neistat, Phil Defranco, Boogie2988, etc, about the diabolical situation of demonitising of videos with "words" in it that their new AI bot doesn't like.
Unfortunately, it doesn't affect just small creators but it has gone to the biggest creators, and there's nothing to be done.
Including in this video is a complaint that Youtube do not get involved in music copyright claims even when they are fraudulent - My experience is they will happily support any "strikes" given out but wont argue for you as a creator even when the evidence is clear.
Music companies can claim any track they like, even when they clearly dont own them and take the adsense for the WHOLE video. A 10 minute video with a 1 minute music content should have 1/10 the total, but no, it is all of the total.
Sometimes, background music is often claimed. Only at the point of upload do you notice it, and besides how do you remove background music from a bar or pub? Or the car radio? It's happened to me.
It's a sad thing to say but youtube also know there's NO real alternative. Yes there are other platforms and they offer similar experiences, with less audience.
I'm on several other platforms and have no following. My following here is no much better (this is a recent addition) although my main channel is growing it is still sub-1000 subscribers.
With the adsense problem, the effort is not being met with reward. As Boogie says maybe the YT bosses prefer the likes of Kimmel.
