All in all, I used 30 feet of 2/0 welding cable wire to complete this epic battery swap, disconnects, fuses, etc. build. In this episode, I run a new starter cable to the solenoid and wire it into the 24v disconnect switch. I also peel away the silicone goop I wrongfully applied to the starter solenoid positive lead and starter contactor. Silicone is not sensor safe, and will corrode the terminal ends. Instead, use sensor safe RTV! Lastly, I safe a little surprise for the end... a cool little, low draw LED dual voltage meter, that happens to be waterproof. EPIC!

When the crane stops working... these are some of the steps you can use to deduce what "might" be wrong with it. It is real nice having one, and it makes lifting stuff easy... when it works.

Scouting is about a game with a purpose... so it stands to reason that Scouts and leaders should be having fun while they are earning rank advancements, merit badges, and other awards. But beware of the curmudgeon and militaristic leaders that want to suck the joy out of Scouting by introducing "higher standards." Be also aware of the "pencil whipper" who robs Scouts of their intended experiences.

In this episode, I continue with painting the camo scheme with a few more tips, repair a basketball sized dent in the front drivers side quarter panel, and replace + add new stencils. I also give ideas and descriptions of other authentic stencils folks can use.
See www.dafont.com for hundreds of stencils. Search "stencil, army" then click on "fancy, stencil, army" for hundreds of choices. Sorry about the error in the video ("defont") Also, not a paid ad nor endorsement of dafont.com.
If you have a CriCut machine, search their data base for my uploaded and public project... search for "FMTV LMTV MTV Stencil Kit" for a full range of properly sized stencils for these military surplus trucks. (This is neither a paid ad or endorsement of the CriCut products.)

I am a retired military helicopter instructor pilot, and I also do a lot of volunteering for the Boy Scouts! This is how to celebrate Memorial Day. Go ahead and feast to celebrate, but it is not about the BBQ... it's about our country's fallen heroes.

This week, I challenged my Scout Crew to an outdoor cooking challenge. Since we cannot meet due to the current situation of distancing, this was a way to promote outdoor skills and keep scouting close to the heart. A bow drill fire is one of the most difficult fires to make... as friction fires go, it is not the most difficult, but is still high on the list. Being out of practice, it took me quite a while to start this fire! I believe I had an ember on several occasions, but in bright sunlight with the wind blowing, I could neither see it or smell it burning. Finally, I got my "bird nest" started and I was able to cook a pioneering and American Indian food staple... parched corn.

The LMTV deconstruction continues with a mop up of parts and panels inside the cab, which means surprise un-paneling! I also remove the three air tanks and air dryer rounding out the video.

In this episode, special guests Sean Fillner and Trey German join me for a three channel mash-up and remove the transmission from PARTriSha. This thing reportedly weighs 2500 pounds and is too much for Malachai's 1500 cap. winch boom crane. We had to use a pallet jack acquired from "Silent" Bob. Thanks so much guys for helping me pull the transmission!

After building the waste oil burner, I make a housing for the burner out of scrap propane 5 gallon tank. WARNING: use a propane tank at your own risk. The build went great... on to part three (the waste oil drip system).
