以下簡介來自果彬師兄 ... 善心法師 (Venerable De Hong) 出生於越南，原籍潮州。精通英文、越文、及中文。在中文方面，法師會講普通話、廣東話、和潮州話。越戰後，法師仍未出家，與其家人坐船逃離越南。在此其間，法師感受到戰爭、和逃難給民眾帶來的苦痛，深心了解到人生無常、世事如幻，有為皆苦的道理，因而引發後來出家之因緣。 2006 年四月，法師毅然辭退軟件工程師的工作捨俗出家。出家後，回越南的寺院接受訓練。由於水土問題，法師常感身體不適，及後被西來大學之宗教研究計劃錄取，於 2007 年十二月回美國洛杉磯，攻讀漢傳佛學，並於 2012 年取得碩士學位，及 2015 年取得博士學位。 2013 年，當法師的論文差不多完成之際，此時參加了 Lewis Lancaster 教授與譚瑞欽布教師 (Reverend Daniel S. Tam) 兩場的會議。在第二場的會議中，Lancaster 教授傳遞了一張報名表，法師是報名的三位之一。就這樣，他們創辦了?心入世佛教會，於南加州的監獄中，教授大學程度之佛學課程，給有興趣參加學習的囚徒。除大學程度的佛學課程外，該會亦提供普通的佛學知識及正念禪修班。同年九月法師開始了在 Chuckawalla 監獄當佛教布教師的志工。 法師見到囚徒所遭受的痛苦，以及漫長而嚴厲的判決，使他們沒有出離的希望。這激勵了法師的悲願繼續前往監獄弘法之決心。他曾在加州九所以上的監獄弘法，並與其他州的監獄員工、囚徒保持聯繫。法師從無緣大慈，同體大悲中，接受所有求助的囚徒，從不會拒絕任何一位。最重要的是能幫助他們在任何地方，都能保持正念、修學佛法。法師說：許多囚徒對修學?、悲、喜、捨，四無量心的反應非常好。 從 2016 年起，法師被西來大學受聘為教授，教導佛教心理學、佛法心理輔導、現代各傳承的佛教學、及綜合生死心理學等課程。在 2021 年八月二十四號中午，法師駕車前往 Lancaster 州立監獄途中，被後面的大型皮卡車衝撞，雖然法師的車全毀，但尤幸人身安然無恙，足見佛法不可思議，菩薩發心，自有龍天善神常相擁護。法師觀察到，獄中囚徒渴求佛法比外面之自由者，更為殷切渴望！因此發廣大心，於同年的秋季學期，決定辭退西來大學教授一職，專注於監獄弘法之廣大行願。本著不為自己求安樂，但願眾生得離苦的菩薩精神，為法繼續努力！ ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4Eanh6mDUM

空岩法師 法師原藉馬來西亞。最初接觸佛教、是在2002年。因有緣閱讀到印順導師的「成佛之道」、由是對佛法引生了極大的興趣。故於2003年12月求受三皈五戒。法師未出家時曾在馬來西亞讀大學、然後到美國密歇根州科技大學就讀、完成樹林分子遺傳學碩士學位。至2012年五月、又從美國華盛頓州立大學獲得植物分子科學博士學位。此時法師對佛法加深認識、更深入探討、同時更認真的努力學習。在完成博士硏究課程後、旋赴美中佛教會追隨繼如大和尚進修禪學。信心倍加堅强、於2012年9月剃度為沙彌尼。2014年12月在台灣受具足戒。法師年青有為、學識豐富、深入經藏、中英語言流利、慈悲接眾、平易近人、是佛教界中一位不可多得的弘法英材。 美中佛教會 http://www.maba-usa.org/community/ Kongyan Shifu Kongyan is originally from Malaysia. She first learned about Buddhism in 2002 after reading “The Way to Buddhahood” by Venerable Master Yinshun. Her interest in Buddhism quickly flourished and she subsequently took refuges and precepts in December 2003. She has an undergraduate degree from Malaysia, a Master’s degree in Forest Molecular Genetics from Michigan Technical University and a Ph.D. in Molecular Plant Science from Washington State University as of May 2012. As Venerable Kongyan became more serious in learning Dharma, the interest of joining the Sangha in order to practice and share dharma with others slowly began to emerge. Consequently, she moved to MABA to practice here after completing her Ph.D. study. She was ordained in September 2012 as a novice and finished taking her full Bhikkshuni ordination on December 2014 in Taiwan. 天天平甩功 • Daily Pingshuai Gong Practice (Denny K Miu) My 88 year old mother has been suffering from insomnia, mainly from her blood pressure medicine. She is my most loyal student, always coming to class before everyone else. But apparently not enough. So in addition to my daily classes which typically are in the morning, I am starting a new nightly session with her (8:30 pm PST) where we will practice in silence a popular QiGong exercise for 30 minutes to help her sleep and to lower her blood pressure, which is called Ping Shuai Gong (平甩功) meaning Swing Arm Exercise. For first timer, please search the web for “Ping Shuai Gong” before coming to class, look for the Wikipedia page and the demonstration video by students of Master Li.
