Germany's Illegal Medium Tank, the Grosstraktor | Cursed by Design
Most people probably think of the Panzer 1 as being the first German tank after WW1. Although the name would logically bring you to that conclusion it was actually predated by several designs including the illegal Grosstraktor. Along with several other vehicles the Grosstraktor was built in secret under the Treaty of Versailles which forbid Germany from having tanks. Unsurprisingly this rule would not stop them from continuing to experiment with the concept of the tank.
