Harebrained Schemes have released 2 DLCs and numerous improvements since the last time I played Battletech seriously. So we are going to play through the standard sandbox career mode to experience the Flash Points and Urban Warfare DLC. We are going to keep the game unmodded and just do a vanilla play-through.
My initial plan is to build a lance of highly mobile, jump capable mechs piloted by mechwarriors specialized in the Piloting skill. This is an ironman save with friendly mech destruction and pilot death enabled.

King Arthur: Knight's Tale is a cRPG with turn-based tactical combat and base building. Knight's Tale is a grim dark telling of the Arthurian legend, or at least a telling of what came next. Solasta: Crown of the Magister is a turn based RPG based on the Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.1 rule set. It is being developed and published by Tactical Adventures and started it's early access on Oct 20, 2020.
Most of this series (the first 10 episodes) were recorded on the 20th using the initial early access release. I plan on playing through the complete early access content which should be about 10 hours of gameplay according to the developers.

In this video we use the instant battle option to test some theories about the AI and range bands. In the first battle we use Hunchbacks with LRMs and and a range (pun intended) of other weapons to see how weapon availability affects the ranges that the AI will attempt to fight from. In the second battle we switch to direct damage weapons without minimum ranges to see if we get the same behavior we did in the first battle.
MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is a first person / sim game based on the Battletech tabletop universe. At launch it will include a campaign mode as well as solo and co-op instant action scenarios and custom scenarios. Modding will be supported. It is a fast paced, entertaining window into the Battletech universe from the makers of Mech Warrior Online. As I type this, it is in closed Beta accessible to pre-orders. It launches on Dec 10, 2019 and is available on the Epic Games Store.
