The clown in McDonald’s is known as Ronald McDonald. It all started back in 1963 when McDonald’s decided to sponsor a television show featuring another clown named “Bozo.” The show was “Bozo's Circus” and it featured an on-air personality named Willard Scott. McDonald’s was pleased to see that their sales went up by 30 percent. So, Willard Scott became the first portrayal of the corporate mascot which, as you can see looked kinda different than what you see now. For the first run of national ads, Mr. Willard Scott was dropped because he was considered too heavy to play the part of an extremely active clown. Don’t worry. He went on to become a weatherman for an American program known as “The Today Show.” Before this clown became the national mascot, the ad agency of McDonald’s considered a cowboy because westerns were popular at the time or even a spaceman because of the emergence of the space program.

Ever stopped and wondered why they called it, “The Super Bowl?” That’s okay you’re probably busy thinking about who is going to win every single year in this American football game.
But, why is it called, “The Super Bowl?” Believe it or not, a toy inspired it.
(Fast Answers)
The National Football League’s Green Bay Packers went head to head against the American Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs back in 1967. This was the very first AFL-NFL World Championship Game. It was in 1970 that the name Super Bowl was officially used.
According to Sports Illustrated,
“The National Football League was founded in 1920, and the American Football League formed forty years later. Competition between the two leagues prompted the owners to negotiate an agreement in 1966 that both factions would merge by 1970 and play a championship game.”
They were some names suggested by NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle (Ro Zeal). He suggested “Pro Bowl” and the “Big One.”
The name that was finally chosen didn’t become the name we know it today.
“Finally, it was Rozelle’s idea to call the game “The AFL-NFL World Championship Game.” That name was official, but it never took off. It was too cumbersome, a mouthful, no good for newspaper headlines.“ Time
Owner of the Kansas City Chiefs and the main founder of the American Football League, Lamar Hunt, was inspired by his son or more exactly his son’s toy.
And, the name of the toy that belonged to Lamar Hunt, Jr? It was called the Super Ball.
The wife of the father, Norma Hunt, said her husband noticed the kids having fun with the WHAM-O Super Balls before having his league meeting.
“"It just popped into his head," Norma Hunt told The Associated Press in a 2016 interview. "He thought Super Bowl is what the name of the game should be." https://www.nbclosangeles.com/
Time quoted the son saying,
“My dad was in an owner’s meeting. They were trying to figure out what to call the last game, the championship game. I don’t know if he had the ball with him as some reports suggest. My dad said, “Well, we need to come up with a name, something like the ‘Super Bowl.'” And then he said, “Actually, that’s not a very good name. We can come up with something better.” But “Super Bowl” stuck in the media and word of mouth.”

(Fast Answers)
Giant Fish
Have you noticed that everytime someone tells their fishing story, their hands when they describe the length of the fish get wider and wider each time they tell their fishing story.
Well, this one is no fib. And, this guy probably doesn't have the arm length to describe his fish story.
Alfred Dean caught a great white shark way back on April 21, 1959 off the coast of south austrailia.
It weighed 2,664 pounds. He captured it with a 130 pound line in 50 minutes.
And, it was listed as the heaviest and biggest fish caught according to the International Game Fish Association.
He used a porpoise as bait on purpose.
Now, consider this. It's a common misconceptions that Manta Ray's are mammals but according to NationalGeographic.com they are actually classified as a fish.
And, guess what?
According to "Fishes and Fishing in Louisiana," Captain James Gould from Hollywood, Florida captured himself a huge manta ray back in 1933.
from wing tip to wing tip, it measured 19 feet and 9 inches and the weight was estimated to 5500 pounds.
According to espn.com
"The ray was hooked on a large shark hook on 1,200 feet of 1/2-inch rope, and when it had been subdued and towed back to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., the city's 20-ton crane had to be used to lift the fish from the water, after the chain hoists on three smaller cranes were stripped in trying to bring it up."
