Canadair CL-415 SuperScooper, Bombardier 415: amphibious water bomber aircraft
This aircraft is a life-saver. It may not be the prettiest of aeroplanes but it more than makes up for this fact by the way it flies.
Imagine being the pilot who has to skim the tree tops, drop onto the nearest lake, scoop up a belly full of water, and then dump it accurately on a forest fire.
Bush fires are a frequent occurrence in the dry spells in Europe, North America and elsewhere around the world. The Bombardier CL415 (or Canadair CL-415) is used to great effect. This amphibious aircraft is respected by its pilots and admired by those on the ground as it flies by.
Water bombers come in all shapes and sizes. Some are converted from their previous roles and are able to enjoy a new lease of life as a fire bomber.

How to see a UFO. how to identify a UFO, and what to do when you spot a UFO
Follow these tips on how to see a UFO. how to identify a UFO, and what to do when you spot a UFO.
This is a controversial subject and the internet is awash with hoaxes and natural phenomena dressed up to be something out of the ordinary.
The easy availability of sophisticated video software and the numerous types of terrestrial aircraft (manned and unmanned) has resulted in countless false interpretations and deliberate hoaxes.
The most common reaction to anyone who says they've seen a UFO is ridicule and there is no shortage of mischievous people willing to lay a trap to snare the unwary or the uninformed.
Like internet trolls they then delight in watching the reaction to their hoaxes and trivia, leading the gullible astray.
So the first skill that you need to develop if you want to become a genuine UFO hunter is the ability to confidently identify and rule out natural and man-made phenomena.
In this video I'm going to suggest several ways you can do this and the tools that make the task easier.
1. Aircraft - low level.
Aircraft are easily identified by their navigation lights. A typical light aircraft will have the following lights fitted:
A red port light on the left hand wingtip.
A green starboard light on the right hand wingtip.
A white light shining rearward on the tail.
And a red rotating beacon on the top of the fin.
At night or in poor visibility during the day the aircraft may also have white strobe lights on each wingtip.
And when coming in to land when taking off the aircraft may also have a white light shining forward.
So it's obviously important to take into account the location and the trajectory of the lights in the sky that may be light aircraft, helicopters, gyrocopters, or perhaps military aircraft flying at low level.
And it's not just powered aircraft that may cause UFO sightings. In 2017 a glider with fireworks attached to each wingtip gave low level aerobatic display. Seen from a distance this looked like a swirling, spiralling, sparkling light just above the horizon. Eerie, but not anything from another planet or dimension.
2. UAV - Drones.
In recent years the increased proliferation of UAV, unmanned aerial vehicles (generally known as drones), has added greatly to UFO sightings.
As time passes drones are becoming more and more sophisticated. The software has evolved to the point where drones can now be flown in formation or swarms.

Is Brexit going to be an example of controlled flight into terrain? Or a runway that leads to new adventures? The one thing you can say for sure about Brexit is that everyone has an opinion about it but no one really knows for sure what the impact will be on any industry, let alone UK General Aviation.
There are plenty of people within the aviation industry expressing their views but you have no way of telling whose predictions are accurate.
The situation is changing and evolving so there's no point in claiming anything to be accurate and true without firm evidence.
The CAA and EASA are both issuing statements and updates to statements about changes to procedures, certificates, and licensing, but with large areas of uncertainty.
and as we all know (without the media reminding us every 5 minutes) businesses require certainty if they are to invest or expand.
So while things remain uncertain confidence lessens and everyone feels like they're scud-running rather than cruising under clear blue skies.
But what have the aviation authorities actually said and does it concur with what the media is saying?
With anything this complex it's always best to go direct to the source, get informed, and then you can make up your own mind.
If you have a UK General Aviation business you might want to pour yourself a large coffee and visit the EASA website.
http://www.easa.europa.eu/brexit
Scroll down to the paragraph entitled "The UK’s withdrawal from the EU".
Then click on the "Notice to Stakeholders" link.
This opens a PDF document dated 13th April 2018 which lists the possible impact of Brexit on five categories.
These include various EASA certificate types, Aircraft Operators from the UK, and Aircraft registered in the UK.
The contents are self-explanatory so I won't repeat them here and the document may have been updated by the time you watch this video.
If you do discover that this document has been changed or superseded then perhaps you would be kind enough to let everyone know by posting a comment below this video.
Below the link to that PDF you'll find more information about the possible impact of Brexit on the EU aviation system.
And further paragraphs about EASA cooperating with UK authorities and how to keep yourself informed about the ongoing EU and UK withdrawal negotiations.
That's the EASA view but what about the UK's Civil Aviation Authority?
There's general information here:
http://www.caa.co.uk/our-work/about-us/eu-exit/
But to answer questions from those involved in UK General Aviation the best place to go is the CAA's microsite which you'll find here:
http://info.caa.co.uk/euexit/
The CAA's Brexit microsite contains sections for all

Now, having spent lots of hard cash to set up a drone business you need clients and you need them fast.
The clock is ticking and the money is leaving your bank account faster than it is coming in.
It's a sad fact that a high proportion of new businesses continue to fail within the first two years.
One of the main causes of this high failure rate is the lack of attention to marketing.
My name is Ben Lovegrove and in 2015 I started and subsequently sold an aerial photography business.
I now offer a video marketing service for clients who want to promote their businesses and generate new leads.
Video is fast becoming the preferred choice for people seeking information. Isn't it always easier if someone just explains things to you in plain English instead of having to read 600 words on a web page?
Google owns YouTube so if you've got a good advert on YouTube the likelihood is that it will show up on both YouTube and Google search results.
I can help you and your business by creating a script based on the contents of your website. I will then make a video using still images from your site or those supplied direct from you.
I will then narrate that script over the images to create a marketing video that can remain on YouTube as your online advert indefinitely.
I will optimise the video for searches on YouTube and provide a copy of the file in a format suitable for your Facebook page.
You can then use this video in several ways; embed it in your website so that it plays automatically to visitors, share it within various social media accounts repeatedly, or use it as the featured video in your YouTube channel so that visitors can see and hear instantly what you provide.
The price for a 2-4 minute video is just £249, or if you provide the script the price goes down to £199 (prices exclude VAT).

Green Living, Carbon Offsetting Guides: https://www.amazon.co.uk/shop/benlovegrove?listId=26TJVAT73X6JB&ref=idea_share_inf
Carbon Offset Airlines That Compensate Carbon Footprint of Flights
In this video I list those airlines that have carbon offsetting schemes, as well as other ways of compensating for the environmental impact of your travel choices.
Carbon offsetting is the process of making financial payments to projects and schemes that compensate for the carbon footprint that results from your habits and lifestyle, in this case air travel.
It needn't be just for air travel of course, you could also participate in carbon offsetting if you travel by sea, by road, or not at all.
If you live off-grid in a tipi then your carbon footprint is going to be very low. On the other hand, if your drive a diesel car and jet around the world on business several times a year then your footprint is going to be considerably larger.
Whatever the size of your personal or your company's carbon footprint you can offset your impact by sending voluntary donations to, for example, projects that siphon off methane gas at a landfill site, or a project that helps distribute environmentally friendly cooking stoves, or any other project that helps to lessen the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
IATA, the International Air Transport Association, describes it thus, "Carbon offsetting is simply a way for individuals or organizations, in this case airline passengers and corporate customers, to “neutralize” their proportion of an aircraft’s carbon emissions on a particular journey by investing in carbon reduction projects."
The IATA website then goes on to say that "over 30 IATA member airlines have introduced an offset program either integrated into their web-sales engines or to a third party offset provider."
It may be a voluntary contribution at the end of the checkout process or the offset payment may be built into the price. Either way the money you pay goes to support low carbon, energy efficiency, educational, or renewable energy projects all over the world. If your airline doesn't have such a scheme you can still participate in carbon offsetting by making a payment using an offsetting website.
Critics of carbon offsetting have suggested that it simply encourages people to continue to waste resources and even worsens the effect by making people even more complacent, but others point out that it increases awareness and leads to a change in habits and lifestyle that reduces a person's overall carbon footprint.
So here's a list of airlines that have some kind of carbon offsetting scheme.
Air Canada
Air France
Air New Zealand
Austrian Airlines
British Airways
Brussels Airlines
Cathay Pacific
China Airlines
