Views of the site of the former Kaohsiung oil refinery 高雄煉油廠 (fifth naphtha cracker facility), Nanzih District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. During the Japanese occupation period the refinery started operation 1944. The refinery was closed in 2015. The refinery spanned over an area of 273 hectares. The site was cleaned from various pollutants that extended into the soil. These works were completed 2022.
