A lot of people aim very low when they are setting goals for themselves. They seem to be afraid of setting higher goals for themselves. The result of this is that they end up in mediocrity, due to so few goals set straight.
So, why should you set bigger goals for yourself? What impact will it have on your life?

Why Is The Programming Field So Politically Correct?
So, this video might raise a few different opinions but I felt like this needed to be said.
One fan of this channel asked basically this question:
"John, why does it seem that the programming field is so politically correct?"
This is something I'm discussing with more frequency here in my YouTube Channel. In my opinion, this new "way of thinking" is literally doing more harm than it was originally created, which was to help people and help people in a disadvantaged position.
It seems that more and more, people are taking it to extreme other levels and they are becoming, well... ANNOYING.
So, do you wanna know what I think about political correctness and my view on how it affects the programming field? Watch this video and find out!

Is Software Development Analytical Or Art?
A lot of people tend to ask me "John, why do you think that software development is art?".
I do think software development is art. While this might seem controversial, let me explain my point. First of all, we need to understand how hybrid things are nowadays. It's difficult to find something 100% pure in 2016. Things mix up with other things and they get a whole new meaning when that stuff happens. Said that, I do think that Software Development is analytical. And a lot.
However, if you think of software development just as something analytical, you'll probably be left behind by the ones who understand that software development is also an art.
When you start to see programming as an art, you'll understand that you have the power to build anything. You, as a developer, has the ability to build an entire universe, just by writing code. And this is where the art comes in.

How You Are Wasting Your Time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaZJsyybwu8
Drinking Coffee & "I Don't Have Enough Time"
Today we are going to talk about two different but relatable topics, when it comes to being a productive software developer.
So, the first topic we are going to address is the drinking coffee problem. I know a lot of developers have trouble when it comes to drinking coffee. Most people use coffee as a crutch to get energy during the day.
According to Body Ecology, "Research is finding that one reason so many people are addicted to coffee, is that they may be deficient in dopamine."
"However, while this research may give people the license to drink more coffee, it is misleading. This is because the coffee itself may then lead to an increase in the root of the depression by further taxing your system, creating more stress, and damaging the delicate pH of your stomach."
(Source: http://bodyecology.com/articles/are-you-using-coffee-as-a-crutch-for-happiness)
So, how is your relation with coffee and how does it affect your overall performance?
Besides that, we're also going to talk about the famous argument "I don't have enough time". Do you really don't have time or are you "mis-managing" everything? Watch this video and find out!

Do You Believe In "The Process"?
Today I've received a question from someone asking me if I believed in "The Process"... As a big fan of processes and Elon Musk, this kind of got me thinking.
Recently I did a video about Elon Musk and how incredible he is... But it also struck me that he is completely against processes...
So, how do I position myself in it? Are processes really bad? Can we get away without following processes?

Don't Follow What Other People Say
Have you ever heard about transcendentalism? It is a way of thinking and, one of the main things it says is that you should not follow what other people say.
In this world, people say a lot of different stuff and they point us some roads that have already been taken. You can either choose to go through one of these roads or you can choose to create your own path.
Transcendentalism says that we can create our own path and we should not follow what other people say.
This is a recurring thing in our society where a lot of people think they are doing differently but, instead, they are just following some other people's path.
Watch this video and find out more about why you should not follow what other people say.

DON'T EVER QUIT THIS JOB...!
Recently, I've stumbled upon a Facebook comment on a group that really caught my attention...
What is more curious about it all, is that this guy has zero notion about everything. And this is why, as you probably know me well at this stage, I decided to honor this video to him.
