Dear collectivist activists...
Words, music and photography by me.
"Dear Gail, dear Anita, dear Rebecca, dear Louisa from my high school days, and dear all you who are driven by the need to impose what you think is right upon the world,
I am one of the most outspokenly selfish persons you will ever meet. You might think me incapable of anything good and you certainly have the right to construct your own idea of "good". But, to prove to you that denying altruism does not make you incapable of benevolence, I have decided to control my natural drive to attack you and by the power of my selfish will I have chosen to show you benevolence. And I do this not in spirit of passive-aggressive irony, but with the honesty my morality and dignity demands. So let us begin:
Humans have evolved to the high order of sentient beings. In this height our instincts have found new objects that we tend to see as "refined". Thus, the fundamental programming of all life, the survival instinct, finds in a sentient being that lives in a high-resource environment a more complex object. Our basic desire for existence, finding our basic needs fulfilled, now desperately seeks something that will satisfy the existence of our minds; it seeks meaning. The select few automatically find this meaning in themselves; being highly conscious of their individuality they find fulfillment in the inner beauty of their minds and the glory of their creations. The many tend to seek meaning outside of themselves; this meaning comes to them in the form of a cause that is elevated to an undefiable absolute that defines their morality and through its own usurped height gives them -in their minds- the right to dominate the unwilling in order to reshape the world in the image of their abstract absolute ideal.
You are the hordes of tragically wasted minds that have surrendered their individuality to an impersonal Hobbesian Leviathan, to an overlord that is nothing more than an idea, you are the iron castle that guards a colored void, a meaning that is empty of substance and that has no more gravity than what you give it. And you are the armies of willing slaves who carry the conquering banners of your paper sovereign. And through faith in your god and sovereign you find justification for your crimes: you silence opposing speech, you minimize liberty and you spit upon individuality. But, by the blessing of your "divine" ideal, your lowly desire to control others is transformed into a feeling of self-righteous virtuousness.
Be sure that I find your acts hideous, but I promised you benevolence and I stay true to my word. I am not here to judge you for your sins, but to absolve you of your anguish. It is my sincere desire to extend a hand that will lift your terrible burden. I am here to bring you the revelation that you do not need
