Finished fitting the points at the other side of Lappingwell Mainline Station, added some power and the first train runs through the platform line. No platform yet. Hopefully do a bit more tomorrow. Welcome back to Piddle In The Marsh in these strange times and I hope you are all avoiding the Corona virus. To me Corona was fizzy pop (soda I think in America) which came in glass bottles and shows my age ! Being under CD19 curfew (no I don't have it (yet)) I have had some time to progress on the extension of Lappingwell Mainline Station. All the points are now fully operational with the Peco Smart Switch system which does seem to work well, so far. I did have an issue with one main board not working fully but that has been replaced. Thanks to Sheffield Transport Models (Puffer Willie's on Ebay) for their help and prompt service unlike another shop in that city. The Platform is two sheets of 5mm foam board glued together and cut to shape with Peco concrete platform edges painted mid grey and washed over with a black wash. Curving them was interesting as the temperature between being rigid and melting was small and more than one went badly out of shape. The buildings are the Graham Farish Art Deco set which I really like and contrast with the rest of the station to hopefully give the impression of it expanding over the years and the different designs. The wall at the back is made up from Lyddle End level 2&3 sections which I hope gives a contrast to the concrete platform look but complements the brick buildings. It should also give a good backdrop to the street scene that will be on the other side eventually. Got all the fun of the LED lighting to come !
