In this video I take you through a 1/2 hour workout designed to hit my 5-8 rep max on incline dumbbells. I hit my PR at 49 years old. I demo how to progress toward the necessary intensity specifically when you have limited time. Timing, stretching, music, intensity are key.
Pay attention to the intensity of my 6th rep with the 100's. I had to dig real deep for that.
After I build up to my max I finish it off with an intense drop set:
Incline Dumbells - Max 6 reps 100lbs
Incline Dumbbells - 1/2 weight as many reps as possible 50lbs
Floor Flat Dumbbells - 50lbs as many as I can squeeze out
High Plank, Low Plank hold pushups
Knee Down Pushups
Low Plank Hold
THIS TURKEY IS DONE!
Iron Master Adjustable Dumbbells @IronmasterPro got me back into the "big weights" (80+). I strongly recommend them if you need to hit 65lb + weights.
They literally won't break.
I have the 75lb adjustable dumbbells, heavy handles and long pins. I also picked up some spare weights locally on Facebook Marketplace to be able to build up to 110's, which I just started messing with again after many many years.
Muscle has memory and this video is proof!
Soundtrack:
The Hand That Feeds (Straight Mix) - @NIN (warmup)
The Brink (Original Mix) - Figure
Root - @deftones
Invincible - @TOOLmusic (max set)
WiFi Punx (Error) - @HO99O9

In this video as part of my Practical Use of AI series, I'll show you how to make a custom thumbnail for a YouTube video using Adobe Firefly and Midjourney. The thumbnail is for this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lFZdgVYkks Simple Fat Loss Math - 4 minutes will change your perspective
Noting along the way that Firefly is heavily censored and I only really push it a bit. Hard nipples NOT allowed lol I have another video coming out to show the exact breaking point of Firefly and how deeply censored it is even beyond Midjourney.

This video sums up how I go about eating in general and more specifically how I go about getting the right amount of protein daily. It opens up with 3 simple statements:
1. Don't eat junk
2. Eat 45g protein or so 4x per day
3. Eat 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight
I do not always adhere to 4x per day personally. Although this may be optimal, sometimes I get 60g 3 times and sometimes 80 or 90 2x. I have read and heard many different takes on the optimal amount at any given meal and even @drandygalpin Andy Galpin has said just get in the protein, doesn't matter. So I ride both trains of thought on that. I trust these guys equally.
I aim for a daily protein intake of 150-200 grams. At 49 years old, my weight fluctuates around 165-170 lbs, and I’m 5’7". My job involves extensive computer work and I work from home. I can cook here most days and love it.
My dietary goals are to grow and maintain muscle, support my lengthy runs, and not exceed a daily intake of 1700-2100 calories.
re: Junk. I focus on clean eating, preferring organic, single-ingredient foods over processed options. Although I haven't yet gotten into Venison I seem to gravitate to wild caught fish the most.
I began a post here for some protein ideas for those struggling with how to go about it. I'm adding to it continually: https://learn.getupearlier.com/t/easy-high-protein-clean-lean-40-grams-per-meal-ideas/94

I have seen parents publicly ask if Snapchat is bad for kids. I put Snapchat in quotes because it can represent any social media app parents question regularly.
The honest and real answer to the question is that any app is secondary to OPEN ACCESS to the Internet. So in my opinion that makes Google the most potentially dangerous thing your kid will be able to access.Think about this before you give your kid a phone.
Google gives your kid the ability to ask any question. The answers are going to be the thing you will want to be concerned with more than anything else. Think about how many times you began research for something and turned up results that were absolute garbage. Now consider what question your 9 year old may ask.
Research parental controls for Google, Youtube, Bing etc. and keep a close eye on their activity. You don't want some sketchy blog giving your kid an answer to a very importnant life question!
