Hi! This is a little intro to the Next Video which will be entitled "Wisconsin Lockdown: Shopping Excursion."
I left a religious cult (I left mentally in 2016 and officially in 2019). Ray Franz, a rather famous former member and leader of the Jehovah's Witness religion wrote a book entitled "Crisis of Conscience" which detailed his process of waking up from a lifetime of indoctrination. Have we all been indoctrinated by the mainstream media and the "Powers That Be" to obediently sit in our homes? (in my state it is called #SaferAtHome ... call it #QuarantineLife or LockDown or whatever you want. Are people even thinking about what's really going on behind the curtain and all the double standards? I honestly feel like I'm having my own "Crisis of Conscience" because I'm just supposed to shut up and put my face mask on. Let's meet in the middle and try to have a conversation.........
I see people applauding censorship. I see the big corporations profiting while the mom and pop shops go bankrupt. I see people literally "disfellowshipping" friends because the other doesn't subscribe to the same "scientific understanding." Mental health is crumbling. Yes...there's some good coming from this too....cleaner air in big cities, happy wildlife, creative and new ways to express kindness, and people having challenging conversations which require critical thinking. Hopefully you can enjoy our car ride as we freestyle some of our own thoughts during these #Covid19 times.
Be Safe
Be Kind
Be Respectful
Keep Seeking
Ever Learning
Shalom

Correction! at the 4:00 mark I say "even though people are unconditionally fake nice"...I meant CONDITIONALLY... The "love" Jehovah's Witnesses are taught to show and have is VERY CONDITIONAL.
If you don't have a lot of time....skip to the very end and listen to my Dad's words of (83 year old) WISDOM. My dad knew the #JehovahsWitness gig was up before 1975, but he is a very humble, quiet man. Enjoy this rare moment of my Dad James (Jim) on camera.
Ok....so you're a Jehovah's Witness...you found my youtube channel and the Watchtower has instructed you to view people like me as an Evil Apostate, an agent of satan, and mentally diseased. Please watch this entire video and decide for yourself if my 75 year old mom and I deserve these labels.
Next...to all my #ExJW peeps!....so you leave JWBorg...now what? Suppose you wanna join the Atheist Parade? Try on some Agnostic sneakers? Perhaps some Jewish joggers? Evangelical evening wear? Unitarian underwear? Trinitarian tank top? A Mormon Moo Moo? The list of clothing options are endless. Just like a New Jersey Diner menu...there are many choices.
Here's my 2 cents: ALWAYS keep doing your Research Truth can withstand scrutiny. But does any human being on this planet have the ultimate truth? NO!! No!!! Don't fall for the same trap twice...don't make any human your #Guru or governing body or apostolic head.
Yes...I personally believe #Jesus is the Head...the King, my Lord, God, Divine, and Eternal King. If I'm wrong...I will accept that...in the meantime I will love people of ALL walks, faiths, nonfaiths, and whatever.
What has helped me MOST on my walk out of Watchtower and into Christian Freedom has been getting still, listening to my own questions, listening for God's Voice, aligning myself with love and GRACE, and finding really good BUDDIES along the way. Relationships...NOT religion.
Thanks for watching.
Shalom!
PS...there's tons of zoom meetings out there...lots of really great exJW zoom meetings. I personally can only recommend a couple....and more than that I'd recommend you go out in YOUR community and visit a bunch of different churches (I personally like SMALL non-denominational...that really dig into the Bible...and sometimes I go for MONTHS and I do NOT attend "church." No physical church group or building is going to save you...only Jesus can do that. And if you're atheist or agnostic or Muslim or Jew or whatever...I LOVE YOU too...because I do not know everything.

POMO means Physically Out, Mentally Out. I was mentally out of Watchtower back in 2015, but it took me until 2019 to completely stop attending the meetings.
This video is about #alcoholism and my recovery from #cptsd and various things that I'm learning in my midlife. (I'm 43) I feel like I'm finally starting to love myself and be able to receive God's love and express and receive love in HEALTHY relationships. For those of us that were born in and raised in cults, healing can feel like an impossible and overwhelming job. I felt that way for years. But Rome wasn't built in a day and being healthy ...on all levels: spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical takes TIME and I'm learning it's not a race and I CAN ENJOY the process.
For any current #JehovahsWitness that may be watching this, please know you are loved by God and for those who of us who've left...we're just people. We love you and we miss our families and friends, but we had to chose to love ourselves and to know God's grace and love.
