Samsung copies something else that they Mocked Apple doing
Just after posting “included with your Galaxy” adverts, showing an image of their chargers, are, according to regulatory filings, removing the charger and headphones from their Galaxy phones from this year.
Shocker.
So, expect revolutionary slim packaging, and also, ultra wideband chips, just like Apple’s for the Mythical AirTags as Samsung is also developing one of those, because why wait for Apple to release something when you can just copy the rumour instead.

Jon Prosser’s cryptic tweet
Probably my favourite leaker Jon Prosser (mainly because he once did a superchat as Front Page Tech and said they watch my show) cryptically tweeted yesterday M A X - presumably referring to whatever’s dropping today, but in a way where he can fill in the blanks after the fact. He also tweeted that Apple TV will not be updated until next year. The consensus is that AirPods Studio will arrive today, but potentially under the new brand name of AirPods Pro Max.
Now I can’t get my head around what this means, but we should know around 1330 UTC today… I’ll go live today at 1300 if anyone wants to hang out while we find out live, so if you have any iCave Answers for me, leave them in the comments below, along with your guesses for what M A X means, and we’ll give them a shout on the stream.

Mac Pros with Apple Silicon - now the dust has settled.
I got out a super fast version of my thoughts on Mark Gurman’s Bloomberg article yesterday, I think ahead of most other YouTubers. Which is nice.
But just to have a bit more context - a 32 performance core version of the current A14 generation cores, as we have in M1, assuming that the performance scales the same way as it Does to 4 would give a Geekbench multicore score around 56,000 (Thanks to Sander for this!), and the current 28 core Mac Pro running intel hits around 19,000.
56,000 puts it in the class of 128 core AMD EPYC servers. That is SERIOUS performance. Add to that the word that Apple is also working on 128 core GPUs for these, and you can see how Apple’s Silicon could scale. Will there be thermal issues when you get to those levels, perhaps, but it would likely be using ⅓ of the wattage of EPYC, so it should be easily manageable. Wow. By the way, its quite possible that there would be a smaller form to the Mac Pro with Apple Silicon, around half the height of the current cheese grater, which is a little sad, as I’d have loved Apple
